Drona review
TeluguSirulu rating: * __ Avoidable (1star) but if u want to see Priyamani then **___ Watchable (2 stars)
Tagline: Drona - tv serial ki ekkuva movie ki takkuva
Strengths: Hot and sexy Priyamani
Weaknesses: Story, screenplay and direction
Mistakes in the movie:
1. When Drona runs away from house they live in Vijayawada, but when he returns after 10 years the family lives in Vizag which is not explained. Even if we take it as transfer for Mukesh Rishi then how did Nitin know about the transfer who just returned from a far off island after 10 years.
2. How did an young kid of 10 years know about loading and unloading of police revolver or gun.
3. Police Officer Mukesh Rishi sitting at home and watching tv when shops in his city are being robbed.
4. Kelly Dorge leaving Nitin’s mother when they are searching for him and see him in Vizag. They could have used her inorder to catch Nitin.
5. Nitin and his friend hide all the jewelery in an unknown island but in the climax the villans take his friend to a place in Vizag inorder to get back the jewels.
6. The big den of villan on the island not being identified by Police for 10 long years.
7. Nitin and 2 of his friends rob the most famous Nizam jewellery in a highly sofistigated manner but are never given training on any electronic gadgets.
8. During the robbery, Nitin passes through one of the laser rays but neither it effects Nitin nor it rings any alaram though his friend who is guiding him shouts “oh no”.
9. Nitin entry fight in the movie is more like a video game than a fight.
10. Seetha who suffers from joint pains runs like hell when she and her son are chased by villans.
Entertainment in the movie:
Venu Madhav taking the get up of Pasupathi (Sonu Sood) of Arundhathi movie and making a spoof of the movie like he did the spoof of Aparichithudu movie in Chatrapathi movie. He also re-lives the role of ‘Nalla Balu’ which he did in Sye movie.
My analysis: Drona movie is a complete waste of time. It doesn’t have neither a proper story nor screenplay nor direction. Drona on the whole is more like a tv serial where the story doesn’t move much even after lot of episodes.
Drona has lot of emotional scenes which are overacted by the actors and which doesn’t create any emotion in the audience. Drona also has a lot of action scenes which are filled with unnecessary graphics. Finally Drona movie is tv serial ki ekkuva movie ki takkuva.
Director Karuna Kumar thanked his guru SS Rajamouli for his direction training in the begining of this movie. He also named the movie Drona making himself as Arjuna and SS Rajamouli as Dronacharya who made Arjuna the greatest warrior in Indian mythology. If Karuna Kumar is Arjuna and Rajamouli is Drona then Drona movie is a very very bad dedication to the great director teacher who changed heroes to stars and who also doesn’t have any flops till now in his career.
Story: Meenakshi (Sita) and police officer Manohar (Mukesh Rishi) has a 10 year old son Drona whom they love to the maximum. Due to a small mis-understanding between father and son, young Drona runs away from home. He comes back to them after 10 years as grown up Drona (Nitin) after robbing the Nizam’s jewels in Mysore. He doesn’t reveal to them that he is their son until Priyamani who loves Drona tells them. Why didn’t he tell his true identity to his parents, what did he do in the last 10 years and why did he rob the jewellery forms the remaining part of the story.

Pinki's Oscar to bring drinking water, power to her village
Mirzapur (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 23 (IANS) As 'Smile Pinki', a short film about a cleft lip girl - Pinki Sonkar from Uttar Pradesh's Rampur Dabai village - won an Oscar, her undeveloped hamlet has come into limelight and authorities Monday committed to provide it with roads, drinking water and solar electricity.
Pinki Sonkar, whose cleft lip made her a social outcast, plays a protagonist in the 'Smile Pinki' by American filmmaker Megan Mylan.
'As Pinki has given an international recognition to Rampur Dabai village in Mirzapur district, the government has decided to undertake several developmental projects for the welfare of the villagers,' Mirzapur chief development officer Jaswant Singh told IANS.
To give the village a facelift, developmental schemes will be undertaken in a phased manner. Initially, the upcoming projects will focus on providing potable drinking water to the villagers, the official said.
'The village has been grappling with water scarcity for the last several years. But, now we would dig up ponds, install hand pumps and re-bore old wells to ensure villagers get adequate water,' said Singh.
According to officials, the Dabai village has a population of around 2,000 people. Most of the people are poor and work as labourers for their livelihood.
As a part of development, the district authorities will also renovate the primary school in the village to ensure students face no problem.
Concrete roads will also be laid down in the village. As most of the localities in the village plunge into darkness at night, the district administration will also set up solar streetlights in the village, officials said.
'You just wait for the next four-five months, the village will have everything in the name of basic amenities,' said Singh.
Village head Pradeep Vishwakarma said, 'We owe Pinki a lot. By her accomplishment, the girl is going to change the village forever.'

'KIKK' Review: Subtle Narration With Little Comedy
Film: Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam
Rating: 3/5
Banner: Laxmi Narasimha Productions
Cast: Siddartha, Tamanna, Praash Raj,. TRamya Krishna, Venu Madhav, Brahmanandam, Nazar, Hema and others
Music: Shankar Ehasaan Loy
Cinematogrpahy: Vijay K Chander
Art: Chinna
Dialogues: Abburi Ravi
Screenplay: Deepak Raj
Editing: Srikar Prasad
Background score: Mani Sharma
Producer: Nallamalupu Bujji
Story, Direction: Kishore Kumar
Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam, being called with pet title 'KIKK' has released today. The film has followed a typical muhurath by releasing at 1:01 PM instead of hitting screens at regular 11 AM show. Let us see how far that muhurath worked well with this movie and what the content is.
Story:
Geeta (Tamanna) is the daughter of a big man named Subrahmanyam (Nazar) in a village. She holds great love and affection for her father. And she happens to come to city for studying in a college. She stays with Gachibowli Diwakar and his wife (Brahmanandam and Hema). She develops good rapport with Prof Rajya Lakshmi (Ramya Krishna) in her college. Siddhu (Siddarth) is the son of Prof Rajya Lakshmi who leads the life of a play boy. Siddhu lives only with his mother for many years and his father Prakash Varma (Prakash Raj) lives abroad and earns big fame and money. He returns and the son Siddhu goes close to him. The friendship between son and father stands unique and strong. Siddhu loves Geeta as a routine treat in any film. But Subrahmanyam puts a condition that he would allow his daughter to marry Siddhu only when the parents of Siddhu are united. Then the real game starts for both Siddhu and Geeta to unite the separated couple. Whether they turned successful in that attempt becomes rest of the story.
Performances:
The film grooved in all major artistes and there is nothing less to speak about them.
Siddartha with his unique style of performance enticed again. Tamanna looked with lot of grace and beauty and has really stolen the show with her looks and expressions. She can stand as Madhuri Dixit in Tollywood if polished her performance and dance in a better way. She is gifted with elegance in screen presence.
Ramya Krishna is ok but she would have given own dubbing for her character. The voice used for her hasn't suited. Being a senior actress, she should at least try to use her own voice inspiring from young artistes like Mamata Mohandas.
Prakash Raj did his best in fatherly role and it is completely different from what he has shown in Bommarillu.
Music stands on the top of all faculties. All the songs received great applause in theatre. It is true that songs could pull the narration of this flick in interesting way. The screenplay is slow and there are some hiccups in editing. The cinematography is marvelous and the film teaches a lesson how the mood can be elevated while picturing songs. Dialogues by Abburi Ravi are good and interesting.
Direction is good but still needs to be gripping. On a whole seriousness and sentiment dominated. Comedy by Brahmanandam hasn't given the punch that has promised at the introduction of his role.
Analysis:
The film is an out and out family entertainer and the main essence is how a young couple attempts to unite a separated old couple for making their love win and take to the altar of marriage. The theme is in fact interesting. The initial few minutes during titles recall the film 'Sangamam' but later things proved to be unique.
First half sounded average while the later half in second part sounded racy and better. On a whole it has got the class-content and teaches a moral 'keep only love and shun anger from relationships'. That's good attempt which deserves a mention.
One really wishes that separating couples just with mere ego would learn lesson from this film.
Heroine Flirting With Hero's Brother
The film industry is one place where many interesting things happen and the hottest among that is the link ups and flirtatious happenings between actors. Now something like that is said to be happening between two people. They are Madalasa Sharma and Aryan Rajesh.
While Madalasa Sharma happens to be the leading lady in the film 'Fitting Master' and she paired up with hero Allari Naresh, it is now being said that she got quite cosy with Naresh's brother Aryan Rajesh the struggling hero who is all set to take his litmus test with the film 'Romeo'.
While sources close to both of them have denied any such thing happening, given the fact that even Naresh has been quite popular in the media circles for getting extra friendly with his leading ladies this does not come as a surprise.
Clash between Ashwini Dutt and Suresh Babu
It has always been seen that the clash between two powerful people in the industry affects a lot of other things and now there is news that two big boys of the industry are cross with each other. While one happens to be the big budget movie maker Aswini Dutt, the other happens to be the crafty film maker Suresh Babu.
Reports say that they had few issues during the time of 'Subhash Chandrabose' and recently when the topic of 'Krishnamvande Jagadugurum' directed by 'Gamyam' Krish came up, the old flames lit up and things were said to be in a messy shape. All this were tales that came in from sources in the film nagar.
However, here is the official version that we have received. Apparently, there is no such thing as a clash between Dutt and Suresh, the truth is director Krish is said to be stuck with a particular thread in the script and has decided to defer it for a while till he gets the correct culmination of the plot and before that he wants to go for a quickie. So folks, it is only a matter of time before Venky and Krish come together.

Tamil film body bans actress Nayanthara
Tamil actress Nayanthara has been banned by a state film body for allegedly not fulfilling her commitment to complete the shooting of ‘Paiyya’ being produced by N. Subhash Chandra Bose. Nayanthara denies this is the reason behind the ban.The decision was taken after Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) members met the South Indian Artistes Association Wednesday.
“Nayanthara had lost interest in films after being jilted by boyfriends repeatedly. Efforts are underway to get her banned in Malayalam and Telugu films as well,” a TFPC source said Thursday.
A ban on Nayanthara will affect three more Tamil movies - “Raja Vesham,” “Satyam” and “Yaaradi Nee Mohini”, which are currently under production. The investment made in the three films is said to be over Rs.300 million, according to industry sources.
Sources close to Nayanthara denied the charges.
“A section of south Indian film producers are ganging up against Nayanthara for reasons not connected to ‘Paiyya’, a film to be directed by Lingusamy whose dates were not utilised by producer Bose. Since her time was wasted for nothing, the actress refused to return the money,” said one source.
“Unable to utilise the time for other projects, Nayanthara was in Dubai for several months with sibling Lenu Kodiyattu. The accusations of acting in bad faith are false and other things about her are motivated, baseless gossip,” the source added.
Nayanthara was dating Tamil actor Silambarasan but they have broken up.
“Yes, we have decided to go our own ways. I will not be doing another film with Simbu in future,” referring to Silambarasan, Nayanthara has been quoted as saying.
Andhra techie's family stunned by his killing in US
Hyderabad (IANS): They were looking for a bride for him. But that was not to be. Just days after he left his home in Andhra Pradesh, mechanical engineer Rudraraju Sudheer Kumar was found shot dead in his Atlanta home leaving his family here numb with grief.
A pall of gloom has descended on the house of Kumar's parents here and also in his native village in Gudimalla in Sakhinetipalli Mandal of East Godavari district.
Kumar, 31, an engineer with Toyota Motors, was found murdered in his flat in Atlanta Tuesday night. He is the third techie from the state to die in less than a month in the US.
Kumar, the only son of Srirama Raju and Padmavathi, had returned to the US on Jan 17 after spending nearly a month with his parents. He had also visited his native village and celebrated the festival of Makar Sankranthi with his grandparents.
"The boy was full of life. He was here to celebrate Sankranthi and it is unbelievable that he is no more," said K. Pallam Raju, Kumar's maternal grandfather in Myfa village in West Godavari district.
"What is more tragic is that his end came at a time when we were looking for a suitable bride for him," he added.
Kumar and his elder sister Bindu Madhavi, who share a flat in Atlanta, had come here on Dec 11. While Kumar went back on Jan 17, Madhavi was to leave on Feb 6.
The murder came to light when Kumar's friend Madhukar went to his flat after he did not turn up at a local tennis club during the weekend and also did not return his calls.
Madhukar found the cars of both Kumar and his sister in the parking lot and informed the police, who opened the door to find Kumar's body lying on the floor.
Madhukar informed Kumar's family about his death over the phone and said the police had not allowed him to see the body.
Srirama Raju received no information either about the identity of the killers or the motive for the crime. He said he was not aware of the reports that unidentified people shot him dead when he refused to part with the money.
"Someone might have attacked him when he opened the door," the grieving father said while trying to control his tears, regretting that he had not called his son during the weekend.
The family was busy with preparations for Madhavi's departure when they heard of Kumar's death.
Family members said Kumar left for the US seven years ago after doing his engineering in Bangalore. He did his Masters in the US and got a job with Toyota.
Kumar's murder is the ninth case of students and professionals from Andhra Pradesh being killed in the US in the last 14 months.

When Dattatreya turned a singer..
The highlight of Bharatiya Janata Party's Vijaya Sankalp Yatra at Vijaywada on Wednesday was not exactly the speech of its Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani.
It was BJP State unit president Bandaru Dattatreya's singing. As he started speaking, nobody expected that Dattatreya would suddenly turn to singing. Explaining the humble beginning of BJP in the State, Dattatreya started singing the popular number: "Mounamgaane Edagamani Mokka Neeku Cheputundi.." from the hit film "Naa Autograph, Sweet Memories."
As such, Dattatreya's voice is horrible; and when he began the song, it was too terrible for the audience. Some women members of the party were seen covering their ears with their hands, as if they were not able to bear the hoarse voice of Dattatreya. Advani and senior leader Venkaiah Naidu, however, listened to him with attention, and of course, a hearty laugh.
