Director Raj Aditya commits suicide

Director and producer Raj Aditya who started his career in telugu cinema industry with Pourudu movie died today by commiting suicide. Raj Aditya killed himself today morning at Hotel Basera in Hyderabad.

Incidentally his latest film Malli Malli which is releasing today is the story of a guy who tries to commit suicide but changes his decision in the last minute to live and fight back.

Prabhas - Puri Jagan film titled Ek Niranjan

The title for Prabhas next movie has been decided as Ek Niranjan. This movie has Prabhas and bollywood babe Kangana Ranaut in lead roles. Puri Jagannath is directing the film and Aditya Ram is producing it on Aditya Ram Movies banner.

Ek Niranjan will be a big budgeted movie from Aditya Ram and the movie will have all the necessary elements to make it a mass masala entertainer and attract all types of audience. Prabhas will be shown in a different angle in this movie.

The shooting of Ek Niranjan will start in this month and will be completed by August.

Swathi not acting with Mahesh Babu in Varudu

Teenage girl Swathi who shot to fame with a tv program titled Colors slowly entered into telugu cinema and acted in movies like Asta Chamma, Aadavari Maatalaku Ardhale Verule etc.

Recently many internet sites and tv media said that Colors Swathi is doing a special role in Mahesh Babu next film Varudu. But this is not true, Swathi is not acting with Mahesh Babu in Varudu. This was confirmed by herself in one of the media interactions. She said that she was never approached by Trivikram Srinivas for any role in Varudu movie. She also said that it would have been nice and proper if these media people clarified with her before printing the news.

Swathi is right now doing the female lead in Kalavaramaaye Madilo along with Kamal Kama Raju of Avakai Biryani fame.

Rukmini heroine for Rana in Leader

Daggupati Rana who is the grand son of Ramanaidu and nephew of Venkatesh is making his debut as hero this year. Heroine Rukmini who is doing the second heroine role in Ananda Tandavam movie has been selected as the heroine for Rana.

Star director Sekhar Kammula is directing this yet to be named film and AVM Productions banner is producing it. The movie is being shot without any media attention.

According to our reporter Bannu, the movie will mostly be named as Leader because that is the title which is under consideration by the director and the producer.

If the news from film nagar is to be believed, director Krish who shot to fame with Gamyam movie is now directing another movie which is titled Vedam. This movie will have all new faces in the lead roles and will jointly be produced by Y Shobhanadri and Devineni Prasad. The shooting of this movie will start shortly.

After Gamyam Krish was to direct a movie titled Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum with Venkatesh as hero. This movie was shelved for reasons unknown. That is the reason why Krish is now making Vedham.

The release of Pawan Kalyan most awaited film has been postponed to Dusserra season. Actually Komaram Puli was getting ready for summer release but is now postponed to Dasara because of Pawan kalyan busy election schedule.
The shooting of Komaram Puli has been temporarily suspended because Pawan Kalyan is busy with campaigning for Yuvarajyam party. Only one month shooting is still left for the movie to complete shooting.

Manorama release on 27th March

Manorama movie in which has Charmee playing the lead role is getting ready for March 27th release as Ugadi gift. Eeshwar Reddy who earlier directed Mee Sreyobhilashi is directing this suspense thriller while Zee company is producing it on Zee Motion Pictures banner.

Manorama is actually not the name of Charmi in this movie but is the name of the hotel around which the entire story revoles. One hopes that this is not true and if it is then we hope that Rambha comes out of all this mess and regains her glory.

Billa audio launch

The audio release function of Prabhas Billa took place yesterday evening at Silpa Kala Vedika, Hyderabad. The audio of Billa was released to a packed auditorium. Dasari Narayana Rao, Murali Mohan, Allu Arjun, Gopichand, SS Rajamouli and VV Vinayak were among the guest who attended the Billa audio release function. The cast and crew of Billa were also present for the function who included Prabhas, Krishnam Raju, Namitha, Meher Ramesh.

Dasari Narayana Rao released the music of Billa and handed over the music copies to all the guests who were present on the dias.


Speaking on the ocassion, Dasari praised Krishnam Raju for his never compromise attitude on production values. He also said that Prabhas is the correct heir for Krishnam Raju.

SS Rajamouli praised Prabhas by saying that Prabhas is the Hrithik Roshan of South Indian films. He also praised director Meher Ramesh for making such a stylish flick in-par with Hollywood standards. Allu Arjun also spoke and said that Prabhas is his favorite hero outside his family heroes and also added that Prabhas is 6-feet standard gold at heart.

Vinayakudu 2 shooting from June

Sai Kiran Adavi who tasted success with Vinayakudu is now getting ready to make a sequel to his first film. Adavi Sai Kiran who directed Vinayakudu will now be directing Vinayakudu-2 the shooting of which will start from June.

Sai Kiran who directed Vinayakudu will be directing and also will be producing Vinayakudu-2 on Moon Water Entertainments banner. Krishnudu who played the lead role in Vinayakudu will also be playing the lead role in Vinayakudu-2 where as Sonia will be replaced by a new girl in the sequel. Rao Ramesh will also be playing a vital role in Vinayakudu-2.

The shooting of this sequel will start at the Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Aakasamantha audio release on 20th

The audio of a small budget film titled Aakasamantha is releasing on 20th of this month. Prakash Raj and Trisha are playing the lead roles as father and daughter respectively. Jagapathi Babu is doing a guest role in this movie. Vidyasagar is composing the music.

Dil Raju who is producing the movie is planning to release Aakasamantha with only 20 prints because the movie is a small budget one and also the film will only appeal to A-center audience as it is not a mass masala entertainer.

Mahesh Babu Varudu film launch

Mahesh Babu film was launched yesterday after almost a gap of 2 years. This new movie titled Varudu is launched yesterday with a pooja cermony at producer Singanamala Ramesh office.

Varudu has Mahesh Babu and Anushka in the lead roles and Trivikram Srinivas is directing the movie. Singanamala Ramesh is producing the film. The shooting of Varudu is expected to start on 22nd or 23rd of this month.

Sonia new film launch

An yet to be named film with Sonia of Happy Days and Vinayakudu fame as female lead was launched yesterday in Annapoorna Studios, Hyderabad. Ramanaidu sounded the clap board, Ramesh Prasad switched on the camera and Raghavendra Rao did the muhurat shot direction.

While Sonia is playing the female lead role, Rajiv of Notebook fame and Krishnudu of Vinayakudu fame are doing the male lead characters. Jonnalagadda Srinivas Rao is directing the movie and M Ramalinga Raju is producing it. Bhupathi Raja is providing the story.

The regular shooting of this new film will start from April and will be wraped by July……

Ravi Teja Kick release on May 7th

Ravi Teja and Ileana starrer Kick movie will be released on May 7th of 2009. This movie was actually planned for release for Ugadi but is now postponed now to May 7th because of Andhra Pradesh state general elections which are to take place in April. The producer of Kick felt that his high budgeted movie will not have any impression on box-office as well as audience because the entire state is concentrating on elections and not on any other thing.

Kick has Ileana and Ravi Teja in the lead roles. Surender Reddy is directing it and Venkat is producing it on RR Movies banner. Music will be released in the last week of April.

Allu Aravind who is producing Ram Charan Tej Magadheera also felt the same thing and postponed the release of his movie to May.

Nagarjuna with new director

King Nagarjuna who earlier said that he wont be doing any movie in 2009 inorder to overlook his son Naga Chaitanya’s debut film and also to develop Annapoorna Studios to international standards is now getting ready to act in a film.



This new film will be launched in the month of June. Nagarjuna is doing this film because he immensley liked the script narrated by a script writer and Nagarjuna is also introducing the same person as the director. Nagarjuna earlier introduced many new directors to Tollywood with movies like Shiva, Nuvvosthavani, Santhosham and Mass. This new movie will be produced by Siva Prasad Reddy.

Ram Charan Tej Magadheera release postponed

Ram Charan Tej latest movie Magadheera which was to release in April is postponed until after general elections in May. Producer Allu Arvind who is producing Magadheera movie felt that it is better to postpone the movie because the concentration of entire Andhra Pradesh is on state politics and not on any other thing. In order to get the required returns and also create an effect on box-office, Allu Arvind felt better to postpone the movie till the completion of elections.

Magadheera has Mega power star Ram Charan Tej and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles. SS Rajamouli is directing the film and Allu Arvind is producing it on Geetha Arts banner. Mani Sharma is composing the music.

NTR MLA launch in May

Ntr next movie MLA will be launched in the month of May. The shooting of Ntr MLA - Manchi Lakshanaalu vunna Abbai will start from the month of May. Nata kireeti Rajendra Prasad will be playing the role of Ntr father in the movie. Harish Shankar who earlier directed Shock with Ravi Teja as hero is directing this film and Nallamalupu Bujji is producing the film.

Ntr who is right now busy campaigning for Telugu Desam Party for the up-coming elections has put his on-going project Adurs in the direction of VV Vinayak. The shooting will be resumed only after Ntr finishes the camaigning. Adurs is temporarily on hold.

Amithab Bachchan did the original Don in Hindi and Shah Rukh Khan acted the re-make of it. Rajnikanth did the original Billa in tamil and Ajith Kumar did the re-make of it.

Young Rebel Star Prabhas is doing the telugu version of Billa. Anushka and Namitha are playing the lead roles and Hansika is doing an item number. Ananda Tandavam music launch

The telugu vrsion of Tamanna’s bi-lingual movie Ananda Tandavam had its audio release yesterday at a function held in Prasad Labs, Hyderabad. Director KS Rama Rao, lady director Jaya, Samudra and Bhemaneni Srinivas Rao were the guests who attended the audio release function along with the cast and crew of Anandatandavam.

KS Rama Rao released the audio cd of Ananda Tandavam movie and handed over the copies to all the other guests on the stage. The function went on well and ended on a happy note.

Ananda Tandavam has Tamanna and new face Siddharth in the lead roles. GV Prakash is scoring the music. Shobharani of SVR Media is producing the movie in telugu. The movie is getting ready for March 27th release.

'Watch my films in colour TVs'

Why has Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu promised distribution of colour televisions to the poor as part of his manifesto?

Well, the answer has come from TD’s latest star campaigner Junior NTR, during his road shows in Srikakulam district on Friday. “You people get tired after day long hectic work. And you need some entertainment to relax. That is why, our party has promised to give you colour televisions. You can watch Anna Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s films; you can enjoy Babai Balakrishna’s blockbusters. And you can also enjoy watching Junior NTR’s films,” he said, amidst loud cheers from crowds.

He further asked when rich people can have TV sets, one in drawing room, one more in bedroom and another in bathroom, why can’t the poor have one TV at their home. Are you convinced with this argument, sir?

Worst Phase In 2009 Tollywood So Far

Slated to be the next best industry after Bollywood, the Tollywood circuit has always been the best bet for many aspiring actors and they come up with big budget ventures. However, things have not been that bright in the Telugu camp as they have been ailing with a spate of successive flops.

So it was with a very positive anticipation that the entire camp was looking forward to this year as some promising films were in the pipeline. However, most of them have turned out to be duds at the box office and out of all the movies that have arrived; only ‘Arundhati’ has registered a thumping hit.

Though it has been three months since the year has passed, the graphs have not been that encouraging and the senior members of the industry are now keeping their fingers crossed to see how the summer season will fare since a horde of big budget movies are in the fray. Well about 20 films are in line for this summer.

Eenadu and Sakshi using ugly language

The media war in Andhra Pradesh displays the ugly side these days. Everyone knows certain facts about corruption and the readers take only such facts and are not prepared to buy the lies of the media. The media has its own interest and own political affiliations and every news report published in the papers today is in tune with these interests.

The other day, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, gave a strong reply to Eenadu on the series of reports published by Eenadu against him. Two days later, today, Eenadu came out with its reply in Encounter.

Besides answering the questions raised by Jagan in his front page letter, the Eenadu’s Pencounter resorted to verbal abuse and tried to brand YS and Jagan as factionists, while projecting Eenadu and Ramoji Rao as the real democratic and saviours of Andhra Pradesh.

Be it criticism or counter criticism, the verbal use like “Mee edupedo meeru edavandi” does expose the ugly side of the war with growing irresistible opposition towards each other. As it appears, it is not the fight between Congress and the Mahakutami, it is going to be the fight between Congress and Ramoji Rao.

Time only will answer who will win in this murky battle. Let us watch in silence.

Recession: Sustain for 1 yr and become Kings

It is known news that the hottest thing right now is nothing but recession and almost all the industries and different professionals have been reeling under the high impact of this one. While most of them have become numb on this, the tough guys are busy trying to work out the brighter side of it.

Most of the Hyderabad based entrepreneurs are now saying that this phase will be on for about a year or year and a half and they have come up with an analysis. They say that if any business would withstand the pressure for the coming year then they would emerge as the successful ones.

It is more like the survival of the fittest and they say that during the recession, those who are weak will shut down their shops and those who are not competitive will fall by the way but those who can sustain these tough times will turn out to be the rulers as they find no big competitor aside once the recession period is over. This logic was derived by a group of entrepreneurs in a trivial talk of Hyderabad Management Association.

Sonia gets her 3rd film

After Happy Days and Vinayakudu, the dusky, hot and sexy Sonia has signed her third telugu film. Krishnudu of Vinayakudu fame and Notebook fame Rajiv who is also the son of music director Koti are doing the lead roles in this movie.


The yet to be named movie is being directed by Jonnalagadda Srinivas and is being produced by Arjuna Raju. The shooting of this film will start pretty soon.

Rajnikanth Robo shooting in Ramoji Film City

Rajnikanth, Aishwarya Rai starrer Robo shooting is going to start shortly in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. A very expensive and huge set is being erected in the studios inorder to shoot the title song of Robo. Art director Sabu Cyril is looking after the set erection process.

Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai will be joining the shooting shortly. The title song will be shot on the lead pair along with 1000 junior artists who will be wearing Robo costumes. Aishwarya Rai is currently busy shooting in Kolkotha for Mani Ratnam’s Ravana.

Rehman music for James Bond 23rd film

Oscar Award winner and music mastreo AR Rehman is all set to score music for James Bond next film. After the super success of Slumdog Millionaire and after winning 2 Oscar Awards AR Rehman is asked to score the music for James Bond next film.
If the above combination works and if AR Rehman scores the music for James Bond then he will be the first Indian to score music for James Bond film. This will be the 23rd film in James Bond series.

Billa release on March 27th

Prabhas as Billa is getting ready to hit the screens on March 27th. The shooting of this movie is complete except for 2 songs which will be shot very shortly. Director Meher Ramesh said that Prabhas who developed 8-pack body is going to look more smarter, sexier and handsome than his earlier movies. He also said that most of the movie is shot in never before shot areas of Malaysia. Meher also said that the entire film of Billa is shot very lavishly with Super 35mm camera.

While Prabhas is doing the Don Billa role, Anushka and Namitha are doing the female lead roles. Hansika Motwani is doing an item number. Krishnam Raju is doing the police officer role. Mani Sharma is scoring the music. Meher Ramesh is directing the movie while Narendra and Prabodh are producing it on Gopi Krishna Movies banner.

Tamil Arundathi release on March 20th

Arundathi which is a blockbuster hit and which is creating records in telugu is now getting released in Tamil Nadu to create the same kind of sensation there. The tamil dubbed version of Arundathi is getting released in Tamil Nadu on 20th of this month.

Producer Shyam Prasad Reddy got the tamil dubbing done and is releasing the movie on his own in entire Tamil Nadu with very high number of prints. This shows the confidence and belief he has on his movie.

Arundathi will soon be re-made in Hindi also. Negotiations are going on and Shyam Prasad is trying to tie up with one of the Bollywood producer biggies to make Arundathi in Hindi.
