'Nachavule' Collections Going Up

After a long time, the prestigious Usha Kiron Movies banner has been seeing some smiles amongst its staff members. Apparently, it has been quite a while since they managed to score a hit and now their latest offering 'Nachchavule' seems to have opened the doors of a new hope and beginning.

Reports are coming in that the opening collections showed 80% occupancy across all centers and now the graph seems to be going up. This has been directed by Ravi Babu of 'Anasuya' fame and it has two new faces Tanish and Madhavilatha in the lead roles. This is a romantic entertainer but with a more mature message to the audience.

The film drew a lot of curiosity with its promo posters as there were no faces except monkeys, dogs, squirrels. Ravi Babu has created a new trend of sorts with his distinct style of promos and he was sensible enough to give a neat message to many of the teens who are a lot more confused these days on relationships. Ram Gopal Varma's Movie On Vijaywada Politics

Sekhar Kammula to introduce Rana

Anand, Godavari and Happy Days director Sekhar Kammula is now getting ready to direct another film with Rana as hero. After planning the re-make of Happy Days in Hindi and also a movie with Nagarjuna, he finally decided to direct a film with Rana as hero.



Rana will be introduced to telugu film industry with this movie. Rana who will be dbuting as hero in this new movie is the grand son of Ramanaidu, son of Suresh and nephew of Venkatesh. Rana was waiting for a correct launch pad for his entry into Tollywood and he finally got it in the form of Sekhar Kammula.

This Sekhar Kammula-Rana new film will be produced by AVM production house. This movie will be officially launched in January 2009. AVM is also producing another movie in telugu with Varun Sandesh as hero.

Srikanth Addala to direct Chiranjeevi

Srikanth Addala who directed the recent commercial hit movie Kotha Bangaru Lokam is all set to direct Megastar Chiranjeevi in his ad films and documentaries for his Prajarajyam Party. Srikanth Addala is going to make ad films and small documentaries on Chiranjeevi and his newly launched Praja Rajyam party.

Srikanth recently met Chiranjeevi and explained his ideas on these ad films and also his thoughts about modern day society. It is also being said that Srianth is being paid handsomely by Chiru to make these films.

King edited by 10 minutes

Nagarjuna’s latest release King was released on 25th December to tremendous openings. Though the movie opened to big openings, the reviews on first day said that the movie was lenghty. So the makers of King decided to trim the movie by 10min.



D Siva Prasad who is the producer of King, director Sreenu Vytla and Nagarjuna decided to trim the movie by 10 min inorder to reduce the lenght of movie play time. The trimmed or edited movie will be played in all the screens from today.

King has Trisha in the lead role, Mamtha Mohan Das in negative role and many comedians and villans to support hero Nagarjuna. Priyamani, Anushka, Charmee, Genelia, Sneha Ullal and Kamna Jatmalani appear in a song and sizzle the audience.

Komaram Puli next shedule from 3rd January

Pawan Kalyan next movie Komaram Puli is going to start its next shedule from 3rd January. This shedule will continue till 15th February during which the entire talkie part will be completed. The songs of Komaram Puli will be shot in March and the movie will be released in May 2009.

Pawan Kalyan is doing the lead role while new girl Nikhisha is doing the female lead role. Manoj Bajpai, Charan Raj, Nasser, Saranya and Ali play other important roles. Music is by AR Rehman, camera is by Binod Pradhan and direction is by SJ Surya. Singanamala Ramesh is producing Komaram Puli.

Balakrishna - Priyamani film release in April 2009

Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna and Priyamani yet to be named film is getting ready to be released in April 2009. Krishna Prasad who is the producer of the film is making all the necessary arrangements to release the movie for summer 2009.



The third schedule of this yet to be named film is going on in Rajamundry while the first and second shedules took place in Ramoji Film City and Malaysia respectively. Mahadev is directing this Balakrishna and Priyamani starrer.

Dasari's Satires On Chiranjeevi

The film industry is one place where the best of relationships can go haywire in a jiffy and one example for that is the equation between the veteran Dasari Narayana Rao and megastar Chiranjeevi. It is said that they used to share a guru-sishya relationship at one point of time but things went soar with the passing of time.

Now, Dasari seems to be keen on pulling Chiru down at every given point and his fumes became stronger after Chiru has become the key opponent for the Congress party. Using the film medium as a tool, Dasari is said to be coming up with a film that might just be taking a dig at Chiru.

The film has been titled as 'Mestri' (maybe from Chiru's 'Mutha Mestri') and Dasari has already got Mohan Babu, Chiru's arch rival in it. Reports are coming in that Dasari has prepared a special satirical menu aimed at Chiru in the film and the shooting has been going on briskly. Let us see how Chiru would react to this one.

Ghajini Review

Ghajini is an suspense thriller from A.R.Murugadoss who has made popular films of this genre. Ghajini being a remake of a Tamil film. The tamil version of film had Surya and Asin in the lead.

Ghajini is, indubitably, Aamir Khan’s most awaited project till date and he has done a great job in promoting the movie till now. The movie has Aamir Khan in the lead role and Asin plays his love interest.

The story of ‘Ghajini’ is a revenge saga, one ingredient that has been the staple diet of Hindi films in Bollywood since time immemorial. It is, apparently, a powerful film. It has the power to sweep you off your feet from the word ‘go’. It has a riveting story, which has been told with flourish by director A.R. Murugadoss.

The director has succeeded to keep up the suspense throughout the film. The narration goes back and forth several times, before the protagonist looses his memory and after. The script written by the director himself helps to keep up the suspense intact. Good action, and good songs by A.R Rahman and the background score is really noteworthy.

Aamir Khan has done a wonderful job. Be it the bold, energetic business magnate or the wild chaser Aamir has stolen the show. Asin seems full of energy. The two seem to make a real good pair.

Ghajini is a must watch for an Aamir Khan fan and a fulltu paisa vasool movie for a Bollyowod buff.

The last big movie of the year 2008 arrived today. The expectations have been big on this film for several reasons. The most vital factor that boosted up expectations is the direction by Srinu Vaitla who made big hit 'Ready' this year. Let us see how far the film reached expectations.

Story:
King alias Chandra Pratap Varma (Nag) is the son of Raja Varma (Sobhan Babu). He becomes the heir of a large estate fatre the death of his father, where his uncles and aunts also live with him along with mother (Geeta). King faces a peril in the form of Swapna (Mamata Mohandas). That stands up to be a suspense element in the narration. Who is Swapna and why she becomes a danger point for King? What happens to King?

On the other hand Sravani (Trisha), an aspiring singer catches the eye of a guy whose name is Bottu Seenu (Nag), a goonda. What's the link between Bottu Seenu and King? That forms another layer in the film.

And last but not least, Sravani falls in love with a software engineer Sridhar (Nagarjuna). Is there any link between Sridhar, Bottu Seenu and King other than the similarities in looks? That's another layer all together.

'Gnan anna' aka Gnaneshwar (Srihari) portrayed the role of Sravani's brother.

Rest to be watched on screen to unleash this knot.

Performances:
Nagarjuna's magnitude is seen fully on silver screen. His grace pulled the attention of entire audiences. It sounds a wonder to know he is 50 now. There are no signs of that age on his face or body and he is looking 20 years younger to what actually the time claims. His performance in three different shades is hilarious and entertaining. He left his starry airs aside and performed up to the role as demanded (like getting bruises from Brahmanandam). That should inspire many younger heroes as well. And coming to dances, he has performed in his trade mark style.

Trisha is with full of elegance and the credit should be given to costume designer and cinematographer. She hasn't exposed anything big but touched the senses of audiences.

Mamata Mohandas looked voluptuous and witch-like as per the demand of the role. She once again proved her mettle as complete artiste with own voice for dubbing.

And coming to the most publicized eight-heroine song, except Genelia everybody looked hot (Anushka), romantic (Trisha), lovely (Priyamani), refined (Kamna), sexy (Mamata Mohandas), spicy (Sneha Ullal) and chubby (Charmy). The costumes used for Genelia are inferior when compared to others in that song. That made the difference.

Brahmanandam once again tickled the audiences with his role as music director Jaya Surya. He has been the vital factor in Srinu Vaitla's films since 'Dhee'.

Master Bharat also brought laughs with his role but that is not in the length of his role in 'Ready'. He justified in a small role in this film.

Jayaprakash Reddy also made his presence well with his Rayalseema style of dialogues. Sayaji Shinde and Krishna Bhagawan also portrayed in their trade mark style on negative side.

Sri Hari deserves very good mention in this flick. He worked really well as supporting artiste. He portrayed action and comedy in right doses. His hilarious role will be remembered as Painter Gnaneshwar for sure.

Coming to technical aspects, cinematography by Moorella Prasad is fantastic. The costume designer also deserves great mention. And the story writers Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan once again grooved in their names for the characters of Sayaji Shinde and Krishna Bhagawan, like they did with their earlier films.

All in all, this Srinu Vaitla's show although inspired from different films (Chandramukhi, Chandralekha, Shankaradada Zindabad etc….), stands to be unique and a wholesome family entertainer.

Analysis:
The movie takes different twists and turns but no where strains the audiences. A laugh is promised at every 10 minutes on an average. Although the length of the movie seems to be long in second half, audiences don't get bored. Even the songs made the audiences sit in theaters by the blend of their right music and interesting choreography as well as costumes.

First half runs with ample humor while second half too does the same with added comedy.

Many films start rolling on mind's screen while watching this flick and that should be understood as parody-like inspiration by the director.

There is risk as people may get bored watching similar comedy tracks again and again. The movie undoubtedly appeals for masses and entertains families.

Releasing Today: 'King' And 'Ghazini'

The year 2008 is concluding with two big films in Tollywood and Bollywood. While 'King, the most awaited film is releasing in Tollywood, the most awaited Ghazini of Ameer Khan is also releasing on the same day.


The film 'King' made on Kamakshi banner with Siva Prasad Reddy as producer and Srinu Vaitla as director is releasing tomorrow (24th of Dec) in hundreds of centers across the state. The film stars Nagarjuna and the most attractive part that has been in publicity is the grooving in of 8 heroines beside Nagarjuna to rock in a dance.

On the other hand the Ameer Khan starred Ghazini with Asin as heroine is releasing tomorrow. The original flick was Momento, from which the Tamil Ghazini was made with Surya as hero and Murugudoss as director. Although the Hindi version is also taken from that flick, it is said that a good part of it is changed in climax. We have to see how it works. Allu Aravind is the producer of this flick.

Uday Kiran Makes Fun Of Heroes

He is known as the 'Ultimate Star' of the Telugu industry and though the title is fully charged up, the hero in person has been busy spending time trying to figure out why none of his movies are able to shine at the box office. He is none other than the strain faced Uday Kiran known for his repetitive body language.

Bhargavi's Murder: Praveen's 3rd Wife Bhargavi?

Praveen alias Bujji, the orchestra singer cum Flutist, who killed Bhargavi and committed suicide first married the daughter of an ex DSP Dolly. Later he divorced from her and married Swapna, the second heroine in Jr NTR's 'Subbu'. He separated from her and then married Bhargavi in the presence of some friends. Bujji met Bhargavi in Ongole as a dancer and fallen in her crush. Bhargavi also considered him as her best half. Things have been moving well until the success of 'Asta Chamma'.

Bujji developed inferiority complex with her success and went into depression. As his first two relations with women were failures, he thought to make his 3rd relation with Bhargavi an everlasting one. But Bhargavi's success appeared like an enemy for him and hence committed murder. Leaving no chance for anyone to question his act, he too committed suicide. The parents of both Bhargavi in Guntur and Bujji in Nellore are drowned in huge grief and shocked. They are talking to media with loud weep. The parents of both sides are condemning the marriage news.

They say that they were never married as per their knowledge. Bhargavi's mother said that her daughter called her for last time in the early morning at 6 AM stating that's he got ready for the shooting. Her death news has come to light through media at around 11 AM.

Bhargavi's Murder: Suicide Note Found

The suicide note of Praveen alias Bujji was found adjacent to the dead bodies. The man who died along with Bhargavi was Praveen alias Bujji, an orchestra singer from Nellore. He has been continuing a love-in relation with Bhargavi and also claimed her as his wife in suicide note.

But the parents of Bhargavi are condemning that. They say that Bhargavi is still spinster.

And Praveen mentioned in his suicide note that he is killing Bhargavi as he is upset with her career growth. He said that Bhargavi kept him far ever since the success of Asta Chamma.

He also mentioned that the parents of Bhargavi have been trying to sideline him looking at the success of their daughter. Praveen killed Bhargavi by making wounds on her wrists and chest. Later he committed suicide consuming poison. The dead bodies are removed from the apartment only this afternoon in the supervision of police.

The last call in her mobile is from Madhu and that was at 10:30 PM. There were scratches on her chest and as per sources there are signs of murder on her. It is said that the man who spent time with her last night has killed her and also committed suicide. This new angle is still in investigation. The producers and directors those have called her in the morning didn't get any answer from her and thus the news has come to light.

Radha's daughter opposite Naga Chaitanya?

Nagarjuna's son Naga Chaitanya, whose maternal grandfather is D. Ramanaidu, was introduced to Nagarjuna's fans at the audio launch of Nagarjuna's King.

His untitled film is being produced by Dil Raju and directed by debutante Vasu Varma. The music for this film is being composed by Sandeep Chowta. But it was on November 23 at this grand gala function that this scion of the Akkineni and Rama Naidu family was formally introduced. The unit finished the first shooting schedule in and around Hyderabad and is travelling to Agra for the second schedule.

Though Shakthi Kapoor's daughter was approached first, she was not signed as the main heroine. Now yesteryear heroine Radha's daughter may be the lucky one to debut opposite Naga Chaitanya in his maiden film.

Radha was a hotshot heroine in her hey days, acting with some of the top heroes including Krishna, Sobhan Babu, Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna.

Ashok Chavan to be Maharashtra CM; Rane fumes

NEW DELHI: Amid an open rebellion in Congress party over the issue of Maharashtra's chief ministership, Pranab Mukherjee on Friday announced that Ashok Chavan would be the chief minister.

"Ashok Chavan has been unanimously elected the leader of Maharashtra Legislative Party," Mukherjee told reporters.

Meanwhile, senior leader Narayan Rane voiced his resentment over the delay in the announcement of the chief minister.

Rane reportedly announced his withdrawal from the CM's race stating Ashok Chavan's "incompetence to be regarded as his rival".

"Ashok Chavan can't be my competitor. He can barely handle his own ministry. He can't do justice to the post of chief minister," Rane said.

The angry revenue minister said, “Now, I don’t want any post from Congress party.“

When asked about rebellion by Rane, Congress spokesman played safe and refused to comment on his statement.

He said he is yet to hear the statement of Rane and will verify facts accordingly.

Congress spokesman also made it clear that "every partyman has to obey the line of discipline".

Industry Ashok Chavan, when asked to comment on Rane's rebellion, refused to say anything. He said right now his party's priority should be to ensure the security of the people of Maharashtra.

Chavan said he is waiting for the formal announcement by Congress high command on chief ministership.

US cuts 533,000 jobs, unemployment at 15-year high

WASHINGTON: The US economy lost a stunning 533,000 jobs in November and the unemployment rate jumped to a 15-year high of 6.7 percent, the Labor Department said on Friday.

The monthly report on non-farm payrolls, seen as one of the best indicators of economic momentum, highlighted the severe retrenchment by companies in the face of a struggling economy and tight credit.

The number of job losses was much higher than the 325,000 expected by private forecasters.

The report also included a sharp upward revision in the number of job losses in the prior two months: October saw a loss of 403,000 jobs (up from an earlier estimate of 240,00) and September job losses were revised up to 320,000 from 284,000.

"There is no sugar-coating this data," analysts at Briefing.com. "It is bad news that will weigh heavily on consumer sentiment and will serve to increase concerns about the depth and length of the current slowdown."

Sophia Koropeckyj at Economy.com said that the losses "were broad-based across both service-producing and goods-producing industries" and the worst single-month decline since 1974.

"The economy is in recession, and the severity will far surpass the depths of the last two recessions."

The jobless rate, based on a separate survey of households, was the highest since October 1993 but slightly better than the consensus estimate of economists of 6.8 percent.

The Labor Department noted that since the official onset of recession in December 2007, some 2.7 million jobs have been lost, and the unemployment rate rose by 1.7 percentage points.

In November, the report showed a loss of 85,000 jobs in manufacturing, bringing the total in the sector to 604,000 over the past 12 months, despite a return of 27,000 aerospace workers from strike.

Employment in the retail sector fell by 91,000, and the leisure and hospitality sector shed 76,000 jobs.

The troubled financial sector shed 32,000 jobs in month, bringing the 12-month total losses to 142,000.

The National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), the panel recognized as the official arbiter of business cycles, said this week the US entered recession in December 2007.

Although a recession is generally defined as two consecutive quarters of declining activity, the panel has its own criteria for determining a downturn, including data on employment, income and industrial output. AFP

Komaram Puli audio rights sold for 2.5 crores

Pawan Kalyan has proved his stamina in telugu film indstry for yet another time. The audio of his latest movie Komaram Puli aka Puli is being brought by Sony BMG for a huge amount of 2.5 crores. This amount is the highest till now in Tollywood which is being spent on audio rights.

The entire film industry is re-marking this as a very daring move by Sony BMG because already the economic condition in the entire World is down and also most of the audio songs in recent times are being pirated or being downloaded from internet. In such conditions the audio sales of Tollywood movies have drastically gone down and also there is no further scope of improvement.

But Sony BMG has its own reasons to spend such huge amounts on audio rights. The company says that it was only Pawan Kalyan Jalsa which made highest audio sales in recent times. It also created record sales collections in Telugu Cinema Industry. More over Komaram Puli has Rawan Kalyan - SJ Surya - AR Rehman combination which is going to be a sure success.

Ileana injured on the sets of Paruchuri Murali film

Tollywood top actress Ileana was injured on the sets of Paruchuri Murali film. She sprained her leg while shooing for a song. Ileana was immediately rushed to Apollo hospital where the doctors treated her and advised one week rest. Ileana immediately left to Mumbai to take rest.

Ileana was shooting in Hyderabad for Paruchuri Murali film when this mishap happened. This incident took place on 2nd December. Ileana is right now doing four telugu movies including this film. Other films are Ntr-Vinayak Film, Saleem with Vishnu and Kick with Ravi Teja.

Sasirekha Parinayam music launch

Krishna Vamsi latest film Sasirekha Parinayam had its music launch yesterday in Sabdalaya Studios, Hyderabad. Sirivennela Seetarama Sastri released the audio cassette and handed over the first copy to Anant Sreeram. Hero Tarun released the audio cd and handed over the first copy to Krishna Vamsi.

Sasirekha Parinayam has Tarun and Genelia in the lead roles. Krishna Vamsi is directing this film which will be released either in the last week of December or in the first week of January. Music will be available in the market from 5th December.

Ravi Teja Neninthe release on 18th December

DVV Danayya who is the producer of Ravi Teja, Siya starrer Neninthe is all set to release his movie on 18th December. This was confirmed by the producer himself in the wake of rumours making rounds that the movie might be delayed because of Puri Jagannath and Neninthe team being held up in Bangkok for few days.

Neninthe which has Ravi Teja and new girl Siya in the lead roles is being directed by Puri Jagannath. Music of Neninthe will be launched by Aditya Music directly into the market without any audio release function. The audio will be released into the market on 7th December.

Ravi Teja is playing the role of a struggling assistant director in telugu film industry and Siya is playing the role of troop dancer in Neninthe. The movie itself is targeting few important issues of Telugu Film Industry.

Nagarjuna King satellite rights sold for 4.8 crores

Nagarjuna, Trisha starrer King is making news even before its release. Before it was audio launch function and now it is satellite rights. According to our reporter Bannu, King satellite rights were bought by Gemini TV for a huge amount of 4.8 crores.

It is being said that Gemini TV outbid Maa TV by a huge amount inorder to bag the satellite rights of King. Though Maa TV is co-owned by hero Nagarjuna himself, Maa TV couldn’t get the satellite rights because Gemini TV was ready to pay 4.8crores for the movie.

Lets wait see how Gemini TV will collect the money from sponsorers by selling them the ad space. At last it will be the viewers who will be tourtured because they will be seeing more of Ads than the movie.

Prabhu Deva lost his son to cancer

Star, dancer master, and director Prabhu Deva's son passed away early this morning. Called Vishal at home, he was named Basavaraj, and had been suffering from cancer for a long time. Deva and his family had been fighting the disease with him, knowing Vishal would be taken away from them any day. When he died this morning, Prabhu Deva said that Prabhu Deva though he knew it would happen, he had hoped they would have more time with Vishal. Recently, he had even taken his son abroad on the Villu shoot to make him happy and fill him with memories.

He has directed films like Pournami, Nuvvastanantae Nenodantana in Telugu and Pokiri in Tamil.

Film personalities including Ajith, Vijay, Prakashraj, Sreeman, director SA Chandrasekharan, cinematographer Raviverman, directors Tharun Gopi, Arun Pandian among others thronged to Prabhu Deva's house.

Vishal will be buried at Besant Nagar crematorium.

Top opposition leaders including TDP chief Naidu arrested

HYDERABAD: (PTI) Top leaders and scores of workers of all major opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh were arrested today when they tried to march towards the Raj Bhavan to stage a protest demanding immediate reduction in prices of petroleum products.

The arrested included Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu, All India Forward Block leader C Biswas, Telangana Rashtra Samiti President K Chandrasekhar Rao, CPM state secretary B V Raghavulu, CPI state secretary K Narayana and Rajya Sabha member M V Mysura Reddy (TDP).

They were taken away to the Banjara Hills police station. All opposition parties had planned a 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' programme as part of a nation-wide protest demanding immediate reduction in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG.

Thousands of opposition workers gathered near the Khairatabad Railway Station junction to march towards the Raj Bhavan, located less than a kilometer away.

Police were also deployed in massive strength to thwart the opposition's programme.

As protesters began their march, police began arresting them at different places en route.

Naidu and other leaders were arrested and whisked away to the police station when they were about to reach Raj Bhavan to meet the Governor.

Producer Buys Asin Shoes For Two Lakhs

The hot Malayalam beauty Asin seems to be the new age Cinderella as she has been getting whatever she wants from a long time. And true to her good time, she has literally been asking for the moon much to the pain of the producers who are currently fielding her in their movies.

One such person who recently got stung was Vipul Shah of Bollywood and he happens to be the producer of the film 'London Dreams' starring Asin. Apparently, the pretty starlet was said to be fussing with the footwear given to her for a scene and said that those were not comfortable. With no choice, they had to go to the nearest store.

Asin took her time and picked up a pair of shoes and when the producer asked for the bill, it was a whopping 3000 euros (approximately 2 lakhs). Asin said nothing about it and poor Vipul had nothing much to say about it too. Talk about putting up with starry airs and tantrums folks!!!

Hindi 'Yevadi Gola Vadidhe' Next Week

Slated to be one of the biggest hits and a cult movie of sorts, the movie 'Evadi Gola Vaadidhi' that was the one and only hit of hero Aryan Rajesh amidst a horde of stars in it remained as a trend setter. The film was directed by the veteran EVV Satyanarayana while the producer was the entrepreneurial Lagadapati Sridhar.

Now, the same movie has been remade into Hindi and it is all set to hit the screens this Friday. The film has been titled 'Khallballi' and there is a significance to this film. The hot and sexy siren Sada will be making her debut in Bollywood with this movie and she is pairing up with the budding star Nikhil Dwivedi.

The expectations are high on this one given the number of stars involved in the project and basically the plot itself. It remains to be seen if the director has been able to place the movie correctly with the pace and the momentum of the comedy. Anyhow, there can only be one EVV so let us wish the very best of success to the Hindi version.

ETV Prabhakar Is Now Local TV Prabhakar

He was once the most integral part of the ETV empire and there came a time when eight out of the ten serials that came had him doing the lead roles. You got it right; we are talking about the noted TV artiste Prabhakar who got to be known as ETV Prabhakar given his strong presence and performance.

However, difference of opinions arose and Prabhakar moved out of the Ramoji camp which also led to severe sparks between Ramoji Rao and his own son Suman. Meanwhile, there is now news that Prabhakar has joined a new network and he is now being known as the Local TV Prabhakar.

He is now appearing in a show called 'Jagadam' on Local TV which is more of a reality competition show. Those who have heard this are passing on lighter vein that Prabhakar has done 'Jagadam' at the Ramoji camp and has now seen in 'Jagadam' of Local TV.

Ntr who was down with fever, met TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu yesterday at his residence. Ntr and Chandra Babu had a brief chat at Babu’s residence about Ntr involvement in politics and also other important Telugu Desam Party issues.

According to our reporter Bannu, Chandra Babu Naidu promised Ntr that he would give the Gannavaram seat to Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan. After this Ntr promised Babu that he would participate in the party’s campain from now on.

Ntr put an end to all the spectulations about Ntr not joining Telugu Desam with today’s meeting with Chandra Babu Naidu. He also put an end to all his differences with his family members. Avakai Biryani auto rally

The Auto Union of Andhra Pradesh conducted an auto rally yesterday in the city of Hyderabad to show their happiness for Avakai Biryani movie. The rally which had 250 autos started at Sandhya theatre in RTC Cross Roads, went through Gokul theatre in Erragadda, Siva Parvati in Kukapally Housing Board Colony and ended at Venkatadri in Dilshuknagar.

The Auto union expressed their happiness about an auto driver becoming a Mandal President after solving the problems in his village. The entire unit of Avakai Biryani also expressed their gratitude to all the auto drivers for their support.

The name should have been Avakai Auto instead of Avakai Biryani…..

Ram Charan Tej - Rajamouli film rolls missing

SS Rajamouli directed Ram Charan Tej and Kajal starrer film rolls were missing from Rainbow Lab in Ramoji Film City. A can having 500ft of film roll was found missing from the lab yesterday. The management complained a case in Hyatnagar Police Station.



The film roll which was robbed yesterday from Ramoji Film City hardly has 2 or 3 scenes which were mostly shot on blue mat. The makers of the movie are not very much worried because these scenes dosent have any story and are not very crucial scenes. Rajamouli has already decided to re-shoot the scenes without any worry of story leakage.

Vinayakudu censored

Director Sai Kiran Adavi directorial venture Vinayakudu was censored yesterday. It obtained a clean U certificate after re-dubbing one single dialogue which was objected by the censor board.



Vinayakudu has Krishnudu and Sonia in the lead roles. This movie will have a premiere show for the press on 20th November at 7.00pm in Prasads multiplex. Vinayakudu is releasing on 21st November in USA and 22nd November in India.

Nitin is hero in Ram Gopal Verma Agyaat

Variety director Ram Gopal Verma is making a murder thriller movie in hindi and telugu titled Agyaat. He has selected hero Nitin to play the lead role in this movie. This will be the first movie and also the launch pad for Nitin in Bollywood. The shooting of Agyaat will start from next month in the deep forests of Srilanka.

Ram Gopal Verma liked Nitin and decided upon him as hero for Agyaat after seeing the posters of Nitin’s telugu flick Hero. Verma approached Nitin and his father Sudhakar Reddy for the role and both of them were more than happy to approve.

Though Nitin has double hat-rick of flops in telugu, his luck seems to shine high because he is getting offers in abundance even after series of flops. While Nitin is getting ready to shoot for Agyaat, his next film in telugu Drona is getting ready for release.

Myaav release on 28th November

Dance director Vidya is making her debut as a director with a thriller movie Myaav. This movie is releasing on 28th November. The cast and other crew of this film are not being revealed till the release of this movie.

The major part of shooting of this film took place in Bangkok. The shooting is complete and is right now in post-production work.

Heroine Kalyani turns producer

Family heroine Kalyani who acted in many good movies like Kabaddi Kabaddi, Avunu Validdaru Istapaddaru, Raksha and many more, married director Surya Kiran and is now all set to turn into a producer.

Surya Kiran who started her filmy career with Sumanth Satyam, didnt have any success in telugu after that. So he went to other film worlds and is trying his hand there. He is now all set to direct a tamil film titled Adhyayam 6 with his wife Kalyani producing it.

Adhyayam is a combination of six stories with all new faces in it. The movie will have six different colours depending upon the moods of each story…so the name Adhhyayam 6 or Chapter 6.

Aascar Ravi Chandran to produce Jakie Chan film

Ravi Chandran of Aascar Films now but once Oscar Films banner is all set to produce an english movie which will be directed by martial arts king Jakie Chan. Jakie is also going to act as the hero in this movie. This new movie will be the sequel to Amour of God series and will be named as Amour of God - Part III. This movie budget is going to cost Ravi Chandran 400 crores. This budget will be the highest production cost till now in the history of Indian cinema.

Ravi Chandran developed friendship when he started distributing all Jakie Chan movies in India and mainly in Tamil Nadu. He used this friendship and brought Jakie for the audio launch function of Dasavatharam. He further wants to use this friendship and produce a movie with the star himself.

Oscar Ravi Chandran who started his career as a distributor of tamil dubbed english films in the southern region of Tamil Nadu. He then distributed all major english movies which were dubbed into tamil. Once he got good money, Ravi Chandran got into main line distribution and started distributing tamil movies. Vikram Mallanna release postponed

Tamil hero Vikram bi-lingual movie Malanna was to release in both the states for Sankranthi festival. The release of this movie is postponed from Sankranthi to summer due to unknown reasons. The reasons are known only to the makers of Malanna.

Mallanna has Vikram and Shreya in the lead roles. Susi Ganeshan is directing the film and Kalai Puli Thanu is producing it on V Creations banner. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music.

Heroines not willing to act with Rajasekhar

Hero Rajasekhar once said that none of the top telugu heroines are willing to act with him because they are being threatened by some big people in telugu film industry. He also said that these so called big people are spreading negative rumours about him which is causing all the big heroines to avoid acting in his films. Well it looks like the problem still continues….

Rajasekhar who is acting in two films now is finding it difficult to get a good top heroine to act with him in these movies. His first film Satyameva Jayathe has new girls Sanjana, Neetu Chandra and Sheryl Pinty acting with him. This has no big heroine in it.

His second movie Hello has Bhumika in the lead role. Hello which is a Malayalam remake needs another heroine in it and when Rajasekhar approached a top telugu heroine for this role she immediately refused the offer. Later he approached another Hyderabad based top telugu heroine and tried convincing her by saying that he is willing to pay double her remuneration but she didnt accept.

Hero Allu Arjun and heroine Kajal Agarwal are acting together in a movie titled Arya 2 which is the sequel of super hit movie Arya. Sukumar who directed the first one is directing the seqel also. BVSN Prasad and Aditya Babu are jointly producing the movie.The lead pair and the entire unit of Arya 2 will be leaving to Dubai to shoot in the exotic locations of Dubai. They are going to shoot few songs and some important scenes in Dubai. The unit of Arya 2 recently finished shooting in Hyderabad.

While Allu Arjun and Kajal play the lead roles, Navadep and Sraddha Das aare playing important roles in the movie. Devi Sri Prasad is composing music for Arya-II.

Vinayakudu release on 22nd November

Sonia and Krishnudu of Happy Days fame are acting in lead roles in a movie titled Vinayakudu. This movie is set for release on 22nd November. This movie completed its shooting part and is right now having its post production work going on.



While Sonia and Krishnudu play the lead roles, Poonam Kaur is playing yet another vital role in Vinayakudu after her sister role in Souryam. Sai Kriran Adivi is directing the film and Saritha Patra is producing it on Prem Movies banner.

Dil Raju got the rights of Nizam and Vizag, Suresh Productions got the rights for rest of the state and RK Films got the overseas distribution rights of Vinayakudu movie.

30 minutes movie removed in Surya s/o Krishnan

30 minutes of movie has been removed from Surya s/o Krishnan film. Surya s/o Krishnan which was released a few days ago in both tamil and telugu got bad comments from critics and bad talk from audience because of very lengthy, serious and uninteresting screenplay.



Although there were many goods in the film like good cinematography, good music and excellent performances by both father and son Suryas, the film goes at a very very slow pace in the flash back episodes which is the major drawback for this film.

Taking this into consideration, Gowtham Menon who is the director of Surya s/o Krishnan have cut shot the film by 30 minutes by removing few scenes in the second half in order to make the film more interesting.

Lets see if the movie will get a positive talk or not……

10 minutes of movie has been removed from the much hyped film Avakai Biryani. Avakai Biryani which was released a few days ago got good comments from critics and some specific audience, but the film was testing the patience of most of the audience in theatres all over the state.



Although there were many goods in the film like good cinematography, pleasant music and descent performances by the new artists, the film goes at a very slow pace which is a drawback. Taking this into consideration, the makers of Avakai Biryani have cut shot the film by 10 minutes by removing few scenes and a song in order to make the film more interesting.

While Kamal Kamaraju and Bindu Madhavi play the lead roles in Avakai Biryani, debutant director Anish Kuruvilla directed it and Sekhar Kammula produced it.

Mahesh Babu new film shooting from 2nd December

The shooting of Mahesh Babu and Parvathi Melton new movie is going start from December 2nd. The shooting will first start in Rajasthan then will go to Nasik and later to South Africa where the major part of the film will be shot.

Trivikram Srinivas is directing this much hyped movie after Jalsa and Singanamala Ramesh is producing it. The movie is tentatively planned for summer 2009 release.

Mahesh Babu is playing the role of an auto driver and Parvathi Melton is playing the role of Miss Universe in this yet to be nammed movie.

Story:
Akbar (Kamal Kamaraju) is an auto driver in a village called Devarakonda and also works as paper boy in the early morning. He is an orphan as lost his father in childhood. He, along with other young uneducated gang lives under the rule of Masterjee (Rao Ramesh), the village head. Babar, a Muslim leader in that place wishes to divert Akbar as religious chauvinist. But Akbar follows 'love all' concept.

A Brahmin family newly comes to that village in exodus from another village and resides in a house. Their plan is to start a hotel business there and also sell avakaya. Lakshmi (Bindu Madhavi), the elder daughter in that family falls in love with Akbar.



How Akbar and Lakshmi unite? How the Hindu-Muslim love is accepted by Lakshmi's father who believes in strict Brahminism? How the hotel business will be started by that family? How Akbar becomes a hero in his village from mere auto driver? All these form the rest of narration.

Performances:
Kamal Kamaraju is ok with his physique and bearing but needs to groom in expressions and other histrionics. New girl Bindu Madhavi is ok with the character she played in the film. And she too needs to groom herself to show versatility.

Music by Manikanth is good and cinematography deserves great mention. The songs 'Mamidi kommaku maa chilakammaku', 'Nannu chupe addam..' and 'Govardhanameththaadu gopalude…' have received good applause.

Director would have done batter work on dialogues. The required punches were lacked on a whole leaving audiences without sufficient entertainment.

Analysis:
It's a movie that moves in a different but slow pace. Technical brilliance is seen in making with creative cinematography, worth mentioning framing, enticing music and quality RR. The tempo of the movie and also the subject chosen for it recalls the 1990s Delhi Doordarshan TV serials like Govind Nihalani's 'Tamas', 'Malgudi Days' etc. It's a genre of movie that would be liked and disliked in equal form. In other words to say, there would be good number of audiences on both the sides. Director Aneesh tried to balance the equation between his creativity and commercial point. But on a whole at the end, it gives a 'boring feel' for some and a 'good relief' for others.

The film aptly suits to hit the film festivals across the world. It has some message in it. Aneesh would have got better experience with the films those will be played in film festivals. Like Thangar Bachchan's 'Pallikoodam', where the lead role works hard for a social cause and the betterment of a place, here the lead role in 'Avakaya Biryani' also does the same. That may not be taken as the only common point between the two. The way the story is narrated with remote village backdrop, limited set of characters with typical characterizations etc.

To sum up, the film has lacked in energy and audiences find it difficult to get connect to it. When story is not running at faster pace that should be filled in by comedy. Or if there is no comedy to show, the story should run. Although Aneesh has comparison with many award winning film makers, he brought some doubts in the heads of some audiences:

How a village family goes to another remote village for livelihood? Many audiences felt that it would have been convincing had they gone to city. And again why the heroine goes to Hyderabad to sell pickles?

How the village head Masterjee speaks in pure Andhra accent in Devarakonda, a Telangana village?

What is the characterization of Babar? He roams as vagabond on a motor cycle for some time and dresses up like MIM leader and sits along with CM other time and appears as 'Mutton Shop Mastan' in another frame. Finally he loses himself in an auto race with hero!!!

Leaving those trivial doubts aside, the film has got many concoctions that suit for Film Festivals. Religious tolerance, inter-religious love, village politics, auto race, auto driver growing as Mandal President and all. The style of narration is something different without the influences of any contemporary director. The notable minus in the movie is lack of sufficient humor and comedy. A couple scenes between village head Masterjee and an eccentric fried of hero Akbar during auto race bring laughs. Aneesh, after his blatant satire on Tollywood with 'Confessions of Film Maker' has made this commercial flick as his debut. Only a separate set of audience can patronize this movie.
