Jayasudha to join Congress today

Congress party is all set to get one more actor from the Telugu film industry to join the party. Actress Jayasudha will be formally admitted into the Congress party on Wednesday at the party headquarters here. Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and AP Congress Committee president D. Srinivas will attend the function at Gandhi Bhavan at 11 am. Ms Jayasudha, who has been supporting the ruling party for some time decided to take the plunge into active politics. Her entry into the Congress party comes after serious talk about the actress entering the electoral fray during the bye-elections in May this year. The party had toyed with the idea of fielding her from Secunderabad Assembly constituency but later gave the ticket to another senior Congress leader. Ms Jayasudha joins a select list of stars from the Telugu film industry to support the Congress. Already actor couple, Rajasekhar and Jeevitha, Krishna and Vijaya Nirmala, comedian Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam and Srihari have extended their support for the ruling party.
