PRP in crisis, two ex-MLAs quit

Praja Rajyam Party is plunging into deep crisis faster than one could expect. Even as PRP president Chiranjeevi was enjoying the compliments being received for his son Ramcharan Teja’s film Magadheera on Friday, his party leaders started quitting the party one by one.

Within a few hours of former union minister U V Krishnam Raju quitting the PRP, two other former MLAs V V S Chowdary and Goli Rama Rao announced that they were also resigning from the party and joining the Congress. They said they could not adjust themselves in the PRP, which had failed to sustain despite having ideals.

Meanwhile, stage is set for the defection of senior leader T Devender Goud and E Peddi Reddy, along with thousands of PRP workers into the TDP. It might happen on Sunday, party sources said.
