Sneha Ullal, the look alike of Aishwarya Rai is getting popular in Tollywood. After her debut in Ullasamga Utsahamga, she is doing movies with Manoj in Nenu Meeku Telusa and an untitled film with Sharwanand.

Now Sneha Ullal is selected as heroine for Sushanth in his next film Current. This film will have its official launch and start regular shooting in November. Current is being directed by a debutant director Pratap who was earlier worked with Raghu Babu and Sukumar.

Balakrishna - Kalyan Ram film delayed

Balakrishna who was supposed to start shooting for two movies simultaneously has stalled one movie which was to be produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram on NTR Arts banner. This film has been postponed till next year. Now Balakrishna will be working for producer Krishna Prasad’s movie which will be directed by Mahadev.

The reason for postponing Kalyan Ram movie is that Balakrishna who is now actively entering into Andhra politics will not be able to do two movies. His entry into politics through Telugu Desam Party will be officially announced on October 24th at Yuva Garjana for which Guntur is the venue.

Nenu Meeku Telusa release on October 10th

Manchu Manoj Kumar babu next movie Nenu Meeku Telusa is getting ready for an October 10th release. It has Sneha Ullal and Riya Sen as heroines and debutants Ajay Sastri and Achu as director and music director respectively. Lakshmi Manchu is producing the movie on Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Movies banner.

Nenu Meeku Telusa also has Hollywood stunt choreographers, close to reality fight sequences, Tamil hero Simbu singing a song and many more specialities. It has a variety story with partial amnesia as the backdrop.

Nithin to be Ileana's hero

Remember Paruchuri Murali, the film maker who made films like 'Peda Babu' with Jagapathi Babu and 'Andhrudu' having Gopichand as the hero. He is planning a new project having Nithin as the leading man and lleana as the heroine. The production House which is going to finance the movie is not known. But there is strong buzz in Tollywood that a new company may produce the film. On October 9, the formal announcement of the movie which is touted to be a very different love story will be made.

'Vinayakudu' to release next month

Krishnudu and Sonia from the blockbuster film 'Happy Days' are coming together as the hero and heroine for the movie 'Vinayakudu'. Saikiran, a former associate of Shekhar Kammula is debuting as a director with this movie being produced by Smt. Sarita Patra under the banner of Prejm Movies. Premkumar Patra is presenting 'Vinayakudu'. Music has been composed by Shyam Prasanna, P.G.Vinda did the duties of the cinematographer and Editing was done by Marthand K Vnkatesh. Ankith, Tulasi, Poonam, Surya Teja, Vahida and Adarsh are the other actors who will appear in prominent roles. Currently the post production work of re-recording is being wrapped up fast as the makers of the film hope to release it in the first week of November.

Krishna Vamsi - Tarun's song shooting

The shooting of the movie inspired from the blockbuster Hindi film 'Jab We Met' is in progress at Vizag. 'Sesirekha Parinayam', 'Journey', 'Rajahmandry To Hyderabad' are some of the names being considered as the title of the movie. Currently a song on the lead actor Tarun and the heroine Genelia is being canned. Krishan Vamsi is directing the film being produced by Sunkara Madhu Murali under the banner of Karthikeya Films.

Baby Shamili's First Cheque Rs 20 Lakhs

It is known news that the Anjali Papa whose real name is Baby Shamili was always seen as the child artiste and after a long gap, she is all set to arrive as a heroine for the bilingual movie 'Ooy' in Telugu and Tamil. Shamili is pairing up with the hot stud Siddharth and this is produced by Danayya.

Meanwhile, there is news from the industry sources that the pretty girl has been given a remuneration of Rs 20 lakhs as part of her project. If this happens and the movie turns out to be a success then it will not be a surprise to see Shamili quoting a much higher figure than that.

Compensation apart, the point that is actually keeping the audience on its feet is they want to see the full grown Shamili on the screen since it has been many years that she was actually seen anywhere and all the viewers still have only the image of her as a small child with an innocent smile.

Sirish Playing With Chiranjeevi

Sirsh Bharadwaj, the son in law of Chiranjeevi turned celebrity with the most controversial celeb-marriage with Srija. He has good connections with Congress from many years as Vishnu, the son of Late PJR of Khairatabad, is a close friend of him. As Sirish's family background has some inter caste mix, Vishnu happens to be his relative as well. A few weeks back Sirish planned for his 1st anniversary wedding party and invited many of his Congress friends. He also gave a signal that he would work for Congress if given a chance. This news has gone to Chiranjeevi camp.

But the very next day Sirish and Srija have given a statement in Vizag that they would work for the success of Chiranjeevi in coming elections. That is only Srija's initiative to avoid any wrong signal for his father.

At any time Sirish may become a hard nut for Chiranjeevi either he joins PRP or stays away from it and joins in Congress.

Strengths: Venkatesh and Kona Venkat

Weaknesses: Nothing at all

My analysis: Chintakayala Ravi is a decent family, love and comedy entertainer with all the required sattiers and attiers. It is an out and out Venkatesh movie with all his typical style of acting. We get to see a lot of comedy from him in the beginning and a lot of sentiment in the end like his earlier family entertainers Raja, Kalisundam Raa, Premante Idera, Adavari Matalaku Arthale Verule etc.

Director Yogesh and script writer Kona Venkat aptly prepared a script for Venkatesh and in turn Venkatesh just lived in the character. Both Kona Venkat and Yogi brought out the best of Venkatesh in this movie and utilized his acting talents to the maximum. It is surely the best romantic entertainer in Venkatesh career as said by him.

Chintakayala Ravi is surely going to be a hit in all “A” centres and among all lady audiences. They are going to just love this movie as it has a lot of mother sentiment in it. It is also going to be a hit because there are no other big star movies during the dusserra festival holidays and also in the near future.

Performances: Venkatesh is the soul of this movie. He didnt act but just lived in the character of Chintakalya Ravi (just jeevinchadu). He was the best in comedy scenes and also in the emotional scenes. The audience will remember his Raja climax action when seeing the climax of Chintakayala Ravi. His dressess and glasses are asusual the best. He looks good in all the modern and fashionable dresses. A special mention about his elongated goatee should be made here. It gave him a real cool and stylish look and also matched the looks of all Indian youth living in US who try to look stylish and different.


Heroines Anushka and Mamtha Mohandas are not just used for songs unlike in other movies. They also have equal and important characterization in the movie along with Venkatesh. They both form a vital part of the movie. Yogi made use of the acting talents of both the heroines and not their body talent making it a family entertainer and not a youth entertainer.

Lakshmi, Chandra Mohan, MS Narayana, Shiyyaji Shinde and Chalapathi Rao were good as the parents of Venkatesh, Mamtha Mohandas and Anushka respectively.

Brahmanandam, Ali, Venumadhav and Sunil could make the audience laugh but not as much as Venkatesh could do. He was the best among comedians.

It was a pleasant to see Venu and Nikitha in guest roles. Arthi Chabriya was hot in her item number and NTR was smart in his french beard. He will appear on screen in a song and will entertain the audience with few dancing steps in his style.

Music by Bollywood duo Vishal - Sekhar is an added attraction for the movie. It is good when combined with Ravindra Babu’s cinematography and the beautiful locations and sets used in shooting the songs. The background rap on Chintakayala Ravi is good. The only minus point is that Vishal - Sekhar tried to indicate all the telugu audience that they gave Om Shanthi Om music by using the same climax background score in Chintakayala Ravi. Mani Sharma re-recording and background score is also appreciable.

Story, dialogues and screenplay by Kona Venkat are good. He made a decent family entertainer with Venkatesh in mind. It is actually a routine mother sentiment and love sentiment story but a lot of novelity was added to it. His dialogues (mainly the sattiers) also suited Venkatesh aptly. The comedy timing along with actors expressions made the audience laugh. His screenplay was also good because he could maintain the tempo all over the movie with out boring the audience.

Director Yogi who made a flop movie Oka Raju Oka Rani five years back came back with a bang called Chintakayala Ravi. He played safe by selecting a mother sentiment story which includes love and emotions. He played even more safe by selecting Venkatesh as hero who is a master of such stories.

Story: Chintakayala Ravi (Venkatesh) is a bar attender in a bar in USA but lies to his parents (Lakshmi and Chandra Mohan) that he is a software engineer in USA in order to keep his mother happy. Marriage is settled for Ravi with Mamidikayala Lavanya (Mamtha Mohandas) who falls flat for him after knowing that her would be is a software engineer in USA. Lavanya calls up her friend Sunitha (Anushka) in USA and asks her to enquire about Ravi.

This is the start of problems and what happens next is a mess up of things which should be seen on screen only.

Rajnikanth and Shankar next film Robo which started its telugu version shooting on September 8th has big names involved in it. Shankar who made superhit movies like Boys and Shivaji is directing this film. Aiyangaran International and Eros International jointly are producing Robo.

Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai are doing the lead roles in this film. Music is by AR Rehman. Special effects and graphic designing is by Stan Winston Studio which worked for films like Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones and Artificial Intelligence. Chinese martial arts choreographer and film director Yuen Woo-ping is composing the stunt sequences for Robo whose films include hit movies like First Legend, The Matrix, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

Priyamani who won National Award and Film Fare Award in the same year is working out as lucky mascot for the Nandamuri clan. She is becoming Priyamoney instead of Priyamani for all the Nandamuri heroes.

She first starred with Ntr in Yamadonga which was a super duper hit. Then Priyamani acted with Kalyan Ram in Hare Ram which was an average hit. The latest buzz is that she is selected as the main heroine for Balakrishna next two movies. These two movies are yet to be launched.

Rs. 2 lakh theft at Vyjayanti office

A theft took place today evening at the office of the most famous and prestigious production house of Telugu cinema. Vyjayanthi Movies office owned by Ashwini Dutt was today robbed by one of its office boys.

The alleged office boy ran away with 2 lakhs cash. This incident took place when the owners were not in office. A case was registered against the boy at the Hyderabad Police.

Allu Ramalingaiah’s 86th Birth Anniversary

Padma Sri awardee for the best comedy only next to Relangi and an eminent character artist Late Sri Allu Ramalingaiah (1922-2004), is well known for his special mark of serving the humour quotient. Today, the 1st of October is the great artist's 86th Birth Anniversary. Fondly called as Allu, he began his film career in 1953 with 'Puttillu'. In his fifty year journey of tinselville, he has acted an enormous number of over 1000 films. 'Jai' a year before his demise was his last film. He had a special mark of comedy, with unique mannerisms, apt comedic timing and his own special nasal voice. This gave him a special place amongst his contemporary comedians like Relangi, Rajubabu, Padmanabham, Ramana Reddy. He is also recognized for his unique character roles that exhibited negative shades with artists like RaoGopal Rao, Nagabhushanam. He also played many memorable roles in films like 'Mayabazar', 'Missamma', 'Sankarabharanam' and 'Yamagola'. He was awarded the prestigious Padma Sri for his outstanding contribution to Telugu Cinema for the year 1990. He was also felicitated with Raghupathy Venkaiah award for his contribution to Telugu Cinema for the year 2001. Nritya Kala Mandali awarded him the title 'Hasya Kala Prapoorna' for his contribution to Praja Natya Mandali before he ventured in to the film industry. His family is very closely associated with the industry having a star producer and distributor Allu Arvind his son, megastar Chiranjeevi his son-in-law and his brothers Nagababu and Pawan Kalyan along with Allu Arjun, Ram Charan Teja, Allu Sirish who are his grandsons.
