With the political wars touching the film industry after Megastar Chiranjeevi has entered into politics with his 'Praja Rajyam', the obvious ploy would be to make films that could convey in a subtle manner some political messages to the audience about their activities or anything.

In this process, Power Star Pawan Kalyan is all set to arrive with his new movie 'Puli' wherein he is doing a double role and one of which has him playing a cop. There is news that the film is being made with intent of conveying few messages to the audience on behalf of Chiru.

On the other hand, there is actor Rajasekhar who is all set to arrive with his new movie 'Satyamevajayathe' and he will also be seen as a cop and doing his best to drive his political agendas across. It is also said that he is grooving in a few dialogues those will directly hit Chiranjeevi. All in all, it is going to be a war between the policemen trying to push their political parties across.

Don't panic, rumour baseless and malicious: ICICI Bank

MUMBAI: Stung by rumours that it was passing through a troubled phase, ICICI Bank on Tuesday asked its customers not to panic, saying rumours about the financial strength of the bank are baseless and malicious.

"ICICI Bank is aware that rumours are being repeatedly being circulated in certain centres regarding the financial strength of the bank.

"The bank states that these rumours are baseless and malicious," ICICI Bank CEO and Managing Director K V Kamath said today.

The statement comes admist reports that the bank's customers were queuing up before its branches in some cities particularly in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh fearing that ICICI were facing major financial crunch.

Debunking suggestions that there could be a 'run-on-the-bank', ICICI statement gave detailed financial position to establish that it was in a very sound position with assets of over Rs 4,84,000 crore and a networth of over Rs 47,000 crore.

Chintakayala Ravi completes sensor work

Venkesth next film Chintakayala Ravi completed its sensor work today and passed out with a clean U certificate. The movie is releasing on 2nd October.

While Venkatesh, Anushka and Mamtha Mohandas are playing the lead roles in Chintakayala Ravi, it is being rumoured that heroes Ntr and Venu are doing guest appearences. Yogi aka Yogesh is directing this film and Nallamalupu Bujji is producing it on Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Movies banner. Music is by Bollywood duo Vishal - Sekhar and editing is by Sreekar Prasad.

Hansika Motwani who acted as heroine in Desamuduru and Kantri movies is now all set to do an item number in Prabhas next film. This yet to be named Prabhas film is being directed by Meher Ramesh and is being produced by Krishnam Raju on Gopi Krishna Movies banner.

Hansika is doing this item number on the request of director Meher Ramesh who directed her earlier film Kantri. She is going to do the role of Jayamalini in a re-mix version of “Naa paruvam…”

This Prabhas film is actually a remake of yester year telugu film Yugandhar and recent tamil film Billa. Prabhas plays the role of Yugandgar in the new film while Anushka will play the lead heroine role.

Puri – RaviTeja's 'Neninthe' on December 18th

Director Puri Jagannath earlier gave hatrick hits like 'Itlu Sravani Subrahmanyam', 'Idiot' and 'Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai' with Ravi Teja playing the lead roles. After a gap, the director has come together with Ravi Teja to make a new film titled 'Neninthe', on Universal Media banner, produced by DVV Danayya. Ravi Teja plays the character of an assistant director in this film, while the debutant heroine Siya plays the role of a side-dancer. The final part of canning work is under progress currently at Annapurna Studios. The director and producer are planning to release the film on the 18th of December. Ali is playing a supporting role in this flick. Chakri has composed the musical score. Being made by this successful duo, the movie is expected to strike it again.

RGV takes up film on Paritala Ravi

Ramgopal Varma, who has tackeled mafia, crime, goondaism, ghosts, black magic in his production and direction, is gearing up to make a film on factionism. He will produce the film but Dharma-Raksha will direct the venture. The film is titled Raktha Charirtra and the logo of the film in unveiled on Sunday by hero Jagapati Babu in the city. One More thought Entertainments and Z-3 pictures will produce this film. This will be made only in Telugu as this concept is more native to Andhra, opined Ramgopal Varma. So is this film based on Paritala Ravi? Possible, is the answer from RGV. This film is a fiction but based on true personalities and situations. Raktha Charirtra will have all new cast. Responding to a question on the plea by Jana Vignana Vedika to ban Raksha, he said, 'Such associations should banned first for false claims. If they prove the black magic, I will give them 20 Lakhs. People who like such kind of movies will watch it'.

Kala Tapasvi Vishwanath will be awarded Allu Ramalingiah Jateeya Puraskaram by Allu Ramalingiah Kala Peetham. Vishwanath will be felicitated with a momento and a golden kankanam.

Teenage heart throb Siddharth and Tamanna starrer Konchem Istamga and Konchem Kastamga is getting ready for a Sankranthi release. 65 % of the shooting is complete. Hero Siddharth will be seen in this film after a long gap. His last film in telugu was Aata.

Koncham Istam Koncham Kastam is being directed by debutant director Kishore Prasadhani aka Dolly. It is being produced by hotshot producer Nallamalupu Bujji who made hit movies like Lakshmi, Lakshyam and Chintakayala Ravi. Prakash Raj, Nazar, Ramakrishna, Brahmanandam and Venumadhav play other important roles in the movie. Music is by Bollywood trio Shankar - Eshaan - Loy and editing is by Sreekar Prasad.

177 feared dead in temple stampede in Jodhpur

JODHPUR: In one of worst tragedies in Rajasthan, 177 people are feared dead, mostly men, and several injured in a stampede that took place when thousands of devotees gathered at a 15th century temple in Jodhpur on the occasion of Navaratri festival on Tuesday.

District administration has confirmed 135 deaths in the stampede. It is feared that the toll may cross 200.

The worshippers had gathered at the Chamunda Devi Temple situated on a hill top in the precincts of Mehrangarh Fort when the tragedy struck at around 5.30 am after some devotees slipped on a slope causing the stampede.

The injured are being treated in various hospitals, Rajasthan's Principal Secretary (Home) S N Thanvi said. "As some devotees slipped on the slope on the temple path, others gathered there started falling on each other causing the stampede. A majority of those killed died due to suffocation as a result of the stampede," he said in Jaipur.

According to reports, there is shortage of oxygen in hospitals.

Director General of Police (DGP), Rajasthan, K S Bains, however, said that nearly 100 people were injured in the incident.

Officials said most of the dead were men as the stampede took place in the separate queue for males for going to the temple.

About 15 to 20 people were killed at the stop and the others succumbed to their injuries in Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Mathura Das Hospital and Sun City Hospital, among others, in Jodhpur.

The dead include a large number of young people, they said.

The devotees in large numbers, including women, had gathered at the temple from early this morning on the occasion of Navaratri festival.

Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said sufficient police deployment had been ensured and there were separate queues for men and women.

But there was a huge rush in the queue for men and some people slipped on a slope which led to the stampede, Kataria said.

The civil authorities have sought the help of the Army to deal with the situation, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Kanhaiya Lal said.

Officials said that the stampede occurred as the devotees along the 2-km-long route to the temple tried to rush towards its door as soon as it opened.

The situation went out of control as devotees, carrying offerings, jostled with each other and tried to rush towards the temple door breaking the barricades, they said.

Inspector General of Police, Jodhpur, Rajiv Dasod said some of the devotees slipped on the 75-metre-long slope on the temple path causing the stampede in the 100-metre zone around it.

"There has been no casualty in the queue for women in which a large number of children were also present," he added.

In Jaipur, Chief Secretary D C Samant called a high-level meeting to discuss the relief and rescue measures, official sources said.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who is holding Navratri prayers at Tripura Sundari in Banswara district, will visit Jodhpur, the sources said.

A few eyewitness to the incident told police that a side wall of the temple had also collapsed due to pressure from the large number of devotees.

Chamunda Devi Temple is the "Kul Devi" of the former Maharajah of Jodhpur, Gaj Singh, and is run by a private trust.

The first leg of shooting of Mahesh Babu’s next film in the direction of Trivikram will be done in South Africa. Initially, the director has planned for a shoot in Rajasthan state, but the location is shifted to South Africa now. This film will be launched in the month of October. Parvati Melton will do female lead. Singanamala Ramesh produces this high budgeted film. In the recent times, Bollywood film Race was shot in South Africa extensively.

Siddarth-Shamili film is Oye?

Siddarth is going to star in a film to be produced by DVV Danayya. Shamili, who worked as child artiste in the past will be making her debut as full-fledged heroine. Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi spoke eloquently about Special Economic Zones and their impact on the lives of common farmers, when he visited Polepalli village near Jadcherla in Mahbubnagar on Friday.

Chiranjeevi, who met farmers affected by Polepally SEZ, surprised everybody, when spoke on the subject as if he is an expert on SEZ issues. He wondered why the government was targeting lands of only poor farmers, whereas not a single politician was losing the land for the SEZ. He also pointed out that out of 256 SEZs in the country, more than 50 were only in Andhra Pradesh and wondered whether it was so essential to have an SEZ here. He demanded that the government tell how many industries were established since 2004 in the State.

Who gave him all this briefing? Well, sources say it was Narayana who explained every bit about SEZs to Chiranjeevi. He gave all the relevant material to the megastar on the subject and asked him to study. That is how, Chiranjeevi could go to Polepalli so confidently!

Siddarth’s new film titled “Ooie”

Siddhardh’s new film has been titled “Ooie.” (or ‘Ooyee). “Ooyee” is an expression in Telugu to call someone. Siddardh who is currently working for Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam has signed this movie, which is to be directed by newcomer Anand, and produced by Danaiah. Ram’s latest film Ready is going to celebrate 100 days all over AP on 26th of September. This film was released with 141 prints and the prints number went to 195 due to public demand. Dil Raju unites with NTR and Prabhas?

A fairly young man, Raju (whose first hit Dil made him famous as Dil Raju in Tollywood) has the pulse of the Telugu audiences. Not one of his films can be termed as a flop or even average. Having produced movies like Paragu and Bommirallu, any movie that he decides to produce is surely hit material. And now he has decided to do projects with Junior NTR and Prabhas, who are known for their mass action hero images. He announced recently that story discussions are on for the movies but “their treatment and further development is still on the anvil”. He also revealed that he has four more stories on hand that he has taken up after examining them thoroughly. A popular website quoted him as saying, “With piling up of good stories, I feel my growing responsibility as producer on my nerves. I feel the pressure.” Kotha Bangaru Lokam, his latest, will release on October 2, Gandhi Jayanthi, to cash in on the ending of Ramzan and the Dassera holiday crowds which will flock theatres. Naga Chaitanya’s debut, which Dil Raju has the honour of producing, will start regular shooting schedules in October. It was already officially launched on September 22nd, on his grandfather Akkineni Nageswarao’s birthday.

Who’s spoofing Rajnikanth?

Rohit Shetty’s latest movie spoofs the superstar and a song sequence from Sivaji Director Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal Returns, a film that has a stellar cast list, has spoofed Rajnikanth and one of the song sequence from the South Indian actor’s movie Sivaji: The Boss. An insider from the industry says: “The mannerisms of Rajnikanth have been copied and it’s quite a funny scene but we don’t know if Rajnikanth will take it in the right spirit. Hope people don’t raise their eyebrows and it has been done only in pure humour.” When contacted Rohit said: “I really loved the grand song sequence from Sivaji. It was mind blowing. I don’t think any Indian film has ever had such a visually delightful song sequence and I thought about it and wanted to incorporate it in a wacky way and Golmaal Returns is the only film in which I could have taken the risk. We are not spoofing anyone. We cannot dare to spoof Rajnikanth. He is a legend.” Rohit’s film has Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora, Shreyas Talpade and Anjana Sukhani in pivotal roles. Rohit says the shooting experience was smooth with the exception of one scene which required Kareena to ride a bike. “Kareena had never ridden a bike and to add to worries it was a 600 CC sports bike. It was the scene which establishes the characters in the film, the opening shot which was very important for the film. Kareena took bike riding lessons for around 2 days and she gave the shot. The time when the shot was rolling I had my heart in my mouth. I was praying that there should be no accidents and thankfully everything went very smooth,” Rohit says. The director says that he is not happy with people calling his film a sequel. “My film is not a sequel but I think it’s a part of a series. It has a completely new story to tell and is not an extension to Golmaal,” he ends.

The much awaited Gopichand-Anuskka starred 'Souryam' has released today. The film raised the interest graph with two reasons. One is Gopichand's success track and the other is posters of Anushka. Is the film in tune with the expectations? Is it the same sterotype action flick like Gopichand's earlier ones? Let us probe into the details.

Story:
An action packed treat, the story is on the backdrop of Kolkata in a college which is joined by Vijay (Gopichand). There he catches up with Shwetha (Anushka) and what starts as a casual relation turns into deep romance for Shwetha but Vijay keeps her at bay. Meanwhile, Vijay somehow wants to get close to Divya (Poonam) and helps her in all ways possible. On the other hand, there is the dreaded goon Sivaram Goud (Manoj K Jayan) who is in the jail in Hyderabad but his son (Ajay) and his goons come all the way searching for Divya. What is the reason? Why does Vijay want to get close to Divya? Why is Sivaram searching for Divya? Is Shwetha successful in her love with Vijay? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
Gopichand is at his best and proved to be a wonderful actor again. He mastered in enacting the emotional scenes. He also has shown some glitter in dances with a couple of interesting steps. Anushka's screen presence elevated the movie on a whole with glamour. She reduced a lot and that is optimum. But she over-acted in boozing scene and bathroom scene.

Poonam Kaur played a prominent role and she is just ok. Her face is going flabby where she needs to keep a check on that.

New villain Manoj Jain did his best but still the range of Murali Sharma, Pradeep Rawat or Prakash Raj is not seen. Ajay's villainy is also up to the mark.

Ali's comedy as Gymson brought ample laughs. Krishna Bhagawan and Raghu Babu are at their best and the script supported them a lot.

Coming to technical departments, Cinematography is at its best, fight sequences are exhausting and music is average. Shiva's direction has suffered some hiccups and he failed to bring in Kolkata nativity on screen.

Analysis:
This is another movie in the lines of Gopichand's earlier films- Yagnam, Ranam etc where action, emotion and violence form the formula.

The movie entertains the mass action film lovers as there is enough comedy packed in right manner. Ali's 6-pack comedy, Krishna Bhagawan-Raghubabu's episode, MS Narayana's guest appearance and situational comedy scenes with lead roles have generated ample humor. Keeping Anushka's trade mark eroticism aside and notable direction faults the other side; the film proves to be an entertainer by all means.

First half of the movie is average while the second half picked up the momentum and raised interest levels. But the climax appears to have dragged due to lengthy screenplay.

On a whole it is a mass entertainer and the success of this flick depends on the patronage of mass audiences.

'Chiranjeevi Will Be Silent Winner'

It appears that Megastar Chiranjeevi has become a strict follower of the saying by Lord Buddha –'Silence is Golden'. After having come into politics, he is being targeted for every small reason and those who used to die to be on his side on the screen or even took pride to be seen with him outside are now shamelessly hitting out at him without a cause.

However, all these things don't seem to matter much as Chiru has been silent over all the mud slinging and is going on doing his work. It was the same mantra that he had adopted in the film career that took him to envious heights. His idea of remaining calm over such things and just focus on the task on the hand has got him a lot of success.

Now, he is following the same principle in politics and there are many of his supporters who say that it is this stand that will ensure that he will also become the Chief Minister and will get him great success in this dangerous and murky field. Let us wait and see how true all this turns out to be.

Tamanna On Trivikram's Affair With Parvathi

New sensation Tamanna was asked to act along with Parvathi Melton beside Mahesh Babu in the film to be directed by Trivikram Srinivas. It is said that Tamannah negated to act as she feels it difficult to share screen with Parvathi Melton as second heroine. But there is a reason behind that it seems. It is said that Trivikram is moving very close with Parvathi and both are enjoying an affair as per the grapevine. The rapport between Parvathi and Trivikram started from 'Jalsa' where he gifted her with a necklace as well. Now Tamannah is not comfortable with all this and feels that she is not being given proper attention because of her. It seems that Tamannah was not given important role and kept down when compared to Melton. Parvathi has more songs and scenes with Mahesh unlike Tamannah's role. Hence Tamannah walked out with all sorts of identity crisis. She is now busy acting in Tamil film 'Ayan', a remake of 'Jab We Met'.

Dil Raju to remake ‘Maro Charitra’

Dil Raju is most happening producer in Tollywood now. He enjoys the position that is akin to some big heroes’ power. This maverick producer further is planning to churn more movies with several directors. One of the projects that he is considering to do is remaking K Balachander’s classic Maro Charitra. Charan‘s Bangaru Kodipetta in Chennai

Bangaru Kodipetta, the super hit song from megastar Chiranjeevi starrer, is now being remixed in Ram Charan’s new film being directed by top director S S Rajamouli. Although the remix song was originally planned to picturise it in Vizag where the original song was filmed but couldn’t. Hence the shooting is now under progress in the backdrop of Shipyard in Chennai. The song will be canned till October 1st in Chennai. Ram Charan is dancing to the steps composed by choreographer Prem Rakshit, while Mumait is the ‘Kodipetta‘. Both the original song and the new song are composed by M M Keeravani. The film, produced by Allu Aravind, also has a special appearance by megastar Chiranjeevi which was recently filmed in Hyderabad. It is expected to hit the screens in Summer 2009.

This might sound a bit absurd but then there seems to be a thought that is making rounds in the industry. This has come after the reaction from the milk white beauty Tamannah who refused to be the second heroine opposite 'Prince' Mahesh Babu for his film 'Varudu'/'Encounter'.

Sometime ago, it was the turn of the slender beauty Ileana who said that she would not want to act with an animated Rajini but she would do so with a real life Rajini when she got the offer for 'Sultan'. Hansika replaces Nayanatara

It is well aware that Prabhas and Anushka are playing the lead in a film to be directed by Meher Ramesh. The film is said to be the remake of a successful Tamil film ‘Billa’. There is another heroine character in the film and Nayanatara was selected for that role earlier. However, she was unable to adjust dates for the producer and hence the producer opted for Hansika Motwani of ‘Desamuduru and Kantri’-fame in her place. Namita played the role in the original and the same is now played by Hansika. Rebel Star Krishnamraju is producing the movie on the banner of Gopikrishna Movies. Besides producing the movie, the Rebel Star is playing a main role in the movie, it is reliably learnt. The producer is planning to launch the shooting on October 9 and continue shooting of three days. After that, the entire film unit would leave for Bangkok for the next schedule. Film Federation of India has narrowed its choice to nine films which were selected among the movies made in different Indian languages. The selection took place to choose the best among the lot and to send these movies to represent India for the 81st Oscar awards, under the category of Foreign Movies. On 18th of this month, FFI screened movies from different Indian languages, so as to pick out the nine best among them. Interestingly, 'Gamyam' is only South Indian film among the list that has made it to the Oscars. Other entries were Taare Zameen Par (Hindi), Valu (Marathi), Tingya (Marathi), Mumbai Meri Jaan (Hindi), A Wednesday (Hindi), Jodhaa Akbar (Hindi), Rock On! (Hindi), Black and White (Hindi). Gamyam (meaning Destination) is directed by debutant Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi AKA Krish. The film stars 'Allari' Naresh, Sharwanand and Kamalinee Mukherjee in the prominent roles. The film received rave reviews from the audiences and the critics alike. The movie reaped success and became a phenomenal hit. Poonam Kaur says yes to kiss scenes

Poonam Kaur made her debut into Telugu films and played heroine in ‘Mayajalam’ and ‘Oka Vichitram’. However, she faced consecutive failures and hence changed her name to Deepti. Despite that she could not get many opportunities as heroine but this Punjabi girl is getting chances to do small time characters. She is doing one of the main roles in ‘Souryam’ and she is also making an appearance in a good character in ‘Vinayakudu’. Soha Ali Khan may have recently hinted that’s all well in her love life but there has been trouble brewing between the love birds Soha and Siddharth. A source close to Soha revealed, “Siddharth is very busy down South. Since he stays in Chennai, he keeps shutting between Hyderabad and Mumbai for his shooting commitments.” Our source adds, “Siddharth is a Tamilian but he is extremely popular and busy doing Telugu films after the stupendous success of his romantic comedy, Bommarilu. Soha is irked that Siddharth has a lot of work in Chennai because she wants him to settle in Mumbai so that he can only move between Mumbai-Hyderabad. Siddharth was in Mumbai last week and stayed as usual in Soha’s flat for a few days. This time they both had heated arguments over this matter. While Soha kept persisting, Siddharth was not interested in moving to Mumbai at all. The arguments reached such a point that he left Mumbai a day earlier than scheduled.

Despite a rocking debut in Rang De Basanti, Siddharth’s career has not really picked up in Mumbai. “He was promised many big films but none fell in his lap. It has been more than two-and-a-half years since Rang De Basanti released. With no films, Siddharth wants to wrap up all his Bollywood projects and settle in Chennai. Soha is completely against this. Vijayshanti held, released

The police today arrested Talli Telangana party leader and former heroine Vijayshanti at Indira Park, Hyderabad, where she was agitating for getting house sites to the poor and downtrodden sections. Later, she was released. Talking to the media, Vijayshanti said that her arrest was a big humiliation to the entire "Adapadachulu" of Telangana. She questioned the functioning of the police and government as "they resorted to arrest the leaders when they exercise their rights". She said she would continue her land-struggle with more intensity.

Praja Rajyam party leader Smt. Sobha Nagi Reddy today launched scathing attack against actress turned TDP mahila wing leader Roja. Smt. Reddy spoke to the media, responding to Roja's remarks against Chiru. "Finding that her name is not there in TDP list of candidates for the coming elections, Roja immediately chose to mudsling against Chiru. Now, she got assurance that she would get the ticket. Chiru is irritated and shouts at fans

They had watched their matinee idol as the angry young man in reel life. On Sunday, they got a taste of his anger in real life. The incident took place when Chiranjeevi was trying to get into his car at the Praja Rajyam’s headquarters on Sunday evening after a meeting with party leaders. The die-hard fans who had gathered outside made a scramble to get nearer to him. Chiranjeevi, who appeared a bit upset, gave vent to his anger by shouting at the fans.

He did not spare even the security personnel. “Who allowed them (fans) inside? What the hell is going on here.” The fans were stung by their favourite hero, wondering what had made the actor angry. Party sources said Chiranjeevi is frustrated as things are not going as planned. He is also said to be perturbed by the poor response to his clarion call for seasoned politicians to join him. Further, the recent leak of the deliberations of the core committee meetings of the PR is said to have irked him.

Meanwhile, the Praja Rajyam leadership has reportedly wound up the membership drive albeit temporarily. Though the partly leadership says that Chiranjeevi is embarking on a state-wide tour, sources disclosed that the decision was taken in order to avoid an embarrassing situation as there is no good response. It is 20 days since the Praja Rajyam was launched, except for the ones who had promised to join his party, no politican of significance has joined the party.

Soumya Reddy murder case takes a new turn

The killing of an Andhra student in the US State of Missouri took a new turn on Tuesday after the discovery of the body of an Indian man in a lake near the spot she was found shot dead, with the authorities now treating the incident as a "murder-suicide".

The body of Soumya Tummala, a 22-year-old electrical engineering student at Southern Illinois University, was spotted by passersby inside a car near the Sunfish Lake boat ramp in Spanish Lake area at about 8.30 am on Sunday.

Detectives searching the area for clues found the body of Vikram Kumar Tummala, 27, in the lake three hours later with bullet wounds. His wallet was found by investigators in the car where Soumya's body was found slouched.

The Ford Taurus car was registered in Vikram's name.

The police in St Louis County are trying to determine the exact nature of the relationship between the two.

Officials are at present characterising the relationship between the two as "cousins".

"At this time we do not have a suspect in custody or a person of interest," Lt Gary Berra of the St Louis County Police Department, Missouri told PTI making the point that authorities are treating it as a "murder-suicide".

"At this time there are only two persons involved. There is no third party," Lt Berra said. The medical examiner has apparently made the determination that the man died from a single gunshot wound to his mouth.

There are a number of factors that the police have based their determination on including the proximity of where the two bodies were found.

The County police official said that he had "no idea" if the Federal Bureau of Investigation is also involved in the ongoing inquiry.

Greg Conroy, the Director of Public Affairs at the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, which Soumya was attending as a graduate student maintained that the male "cousin" is not currently enrolled in the university.

Out of a total student population of about 13,500, the international student population in the university numbered 359 as of January 2008, including 167 from India, he said.

Local media reports said Soumya and Vikram lived at different addresses in Maryville, Illinois.

"What we're trying to find out now is why these two
individuals from Maryville, Illinois, were up in such a remote area of St Louis County," police spokesman Rick Eckhard said.

Soumya's murder is the fourth incident of a student from Andhra Pradesh being killed under mysterious circumstances in the US in the last 10 months.

A Srinivas, a post-graduate medical student from Karimnagar was killed in March. A Kirankumar and K Chandrasekhar Reddy, both PhD students, were shot dead at Louisiana University in December 2007.

Taare Zameen Par is India's entry for Oscar

MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's directorial debut Taare Zameen Par will be India's official entry for the Oscar award for the best foreign film, the jury announced here on Saturday.

The announcement was made by the Sunil Darshan, chairman of the jury set up by the Film Federation of India (FFI).

Taare Zameen Par , which won critical acclaim as well as mass popularity, is a story of a child's bonding with his teacher.

Mahesh Babu’s much-anticipated next venture Varudu will start regular shooting in Rajasthan by the end of September.
