Egg attack on Chiru, who did it?

The egg-attack on Praja Rajyam party president Chiranjeevi during his road show in Warangal district has come as a blessing in disguise for him, while it completely damaged the image of Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao and other leaders tries to throw the blame on the others, saying that it was the conspiracy hatched by their rivals, particularly the Congress. TRS legislator Harish Rao called up PRP spokesman Parakala Prabhakar and told him that those who had hurled eggs at Chiranjeevi were definitely not TRS workers.

However, by evening, TRS leadership got the information that the attackers were, indeed, TRS workers. Harish Rao immediately clarified to the media that if they were TRS workers, action would be taken against them.

Why did they attack Chiru? Reason was obvious: Chiranjeevi drew huge crowds in all the areas in Karimnagar and Warangal districts, which are considered to be TRS bastions. The people's response to Chiranjeevi's speeches was also tremendous and the local TRS leaders felt that they would lose hold on their areas and hence, provoked their supporters to irritate Chiranjeevi, so that he would lose his temper. That did not happen, but TRS image has gone down the drain.
